My experience is solely based on the occupational health department based off of St. Mark's
The staff were lovely and very much precise with their directions. I was out of there in no time. I am simply leaving this review as a direction for anyone visiting for the first time and feeling overwhelmed because it honestly is a massive establishment. Generally your last bus should take you right outside their doorstep and all you need to do is go inside and get things sorted. Hope this was helpful to all the IMG's out there!

Amazing hospital! I've been to multiple clinics regarding my digestive issues, and the only one to give me clear answers were St Mark's. Unlike a few other hospitals, I've never been gaslit by the staff here, and have a wonderful nurse who is always helpful and concerned about my condition. I really appreciate you guys - thank you ❤️

Very very dissapointed with the attitude and unprofessional approach by the doctors . My wife was admitted with a very high reading of sugar. While in the hospital she contracted pneumonia. A veey bad attack at that. The doctors were treating her for pneumonia and not for her elevated sugar levels. Today , my wife has been discharged from the hospital and her sugar levels still remains very high. When questioned , the doctor said you will be alright once you go home. Most of the doctors here are just clueless. When ever my wife's sugar levels increase , they inject a high dosage of insulin. Inspite of all this my wife's sugar levels stil remain very high. Very very stressed up and dissapointed with the treatment my wife has received. Sad.

Called and advised that the hospital can not help regarding asylum seeker care or advise on it because they are obviously not trained on it at all. Parroted very general obvious advice about A&E which was not my question. There was no help given on how to book with a gp. Very patronising and unhelpful operator who thinks asylum health care is a mere legal matter. Don't call here if you are an asylum seeker.

Unfortunately due to some bad health in the past 5 years, I've had reason to make many visits to St. Marks. The staff are very pleasant, friendly and happy to help with queries etc. Although like with the majority of NHS hospitals you may be kept waiting up to an hour for your appointment, usually much less, the Doctors are registrar level or above in the clinics, in my experience. Again happy to help, give clear information about the condition and will answer any questions, allowing a few very useful extra minutes. The main clinics/wards are cardiology and gastroenterology, with technicians doing cardio tests on the upper floors and procedures for gastro eg colonoscopy and endoscopy. Personally I've had much experience of many, various tests and appointments and they were expertly undertaken, almost pain free, more a little discomfort and satisfied with all appointments. Make sure to arrive on time or you may not be seen. Also, blood test facilities.

Rarely review hospital appointments, but due to the initial apprehension I felt reading past reviews about St Mark's Hospital upon receiving my referral there, think they deserve better. Not talking about all the moaning about admin staff (which in some cases is probably deserved) but relating to the actual medical team. The care I received from all the staff involved during my visit to the Endoscopy Unit was outstanding in every way. Super professional, respectful, friendly and kind. A lot of these doctors / nurses are working under incredibly challenging conditions for very little reward. And deserve much, much, more respect than they get from a lot of the public.
