During my four week radiotherapy Treatment I have nothing but praise for the professionalism and friendliness of everyone in the unit including the volunteers. I made to feel very special everytime I interacted with every member of staff, where every concern I had was answered with full and clear responses. During a traumatic time my visits were made as pleasurable as possible. I have nothing but praise for the unit.

WOW. Today was my first Chemotherapy session up on Chilworth (my home village) ward. Was a bit apprehensive going there, but the staff and facilities were fantastic and it was a good experience.

Thank you some much all the team there and looking forwards to my next visit

Kind regards Martin

I went here today to have gold seeds inserted,I was greeted by two lovely ladies on reception who were exceptionally helpful.
I was dealt with by another two lovely ladies with my treatment ( Kay & Kate )
I cannot praise these people high enough.
I cannot thank NHS enough.
Give these people a decent wage.Nobody deserves it more.
Thank you all at St.Lukes and a Merry Christmas.

Impressed with efficiency of service and friendly staff. Free parking for patients (ask for badge). Close to Tesco for drinks and snacks if you have to waste a few hours waiting for stuff to get into system.

I never saw the same doctor or consultant more than once over 6 appointments. I would have thought continuity to be key when you're dealing with any cancer diagnosis let alone a particularly tricky one. When my consultant retired suddenly 2 days before I was due to see him to discuss a treatment option I was seen by a locum who didn't have my file or notes just one letter. I received confusing contradictory information from two of the doctors I saw following my consultant's retirement. One said I needed this treatment the next said it was not needed in my case as I was on the right medication. I waited almost 2 hours for my final appointment with a new consultant to clarify and he only gave me around 5 minutes of his time. I only got to see him on the day because I insisted upon it. They were very busy and the nurse said I was seeing someone else despite having been reassured twice in phone calls I would be seeing him. No-one had thought to discuss the need for dental implants to be carried out at least 6 months before bisphosphonate treatment begins (to strengthen bones and prevent cancer recurring in bones) until my final appointment at St Luke's in February 2020! All I had been told was that dental treatment needs to be finished before bisphosphonate infusions begin. I was diagnosed in October 2018. I had my surgery in June 2019 and the first of 6 bisphosphonate infusions must be started within a year of surgery unknown to me. The window of opportunity was lost for me to have both implants and the bisphosphonate infusions that would improve my prognosis a little - had there been continuity this would probably not have happened. I'm not impressed by the lack of it - seeing 6 different doctors in 6 visits is not good enough St Luke's. In this respect I feel let down by this centre. I was actually booked in for an infusion I couldn't have (finding out in an appointment letter I wasn't expecting) which remained on computer records until a member of the oncology team phoned me and enquired as to why I was coming in for an appointment and only then did I find out the ward had not been told I wasn't coming in because I needed to see my dentist first. I had told my consultant's temporary secretary I needed to cancel the appointment for the infusion - the ward wasn't told and neither was the appointment cancelled. Apparently the ward had everything ready for me - they must have thought I just didn't turn up. The oncologist on the phone told me she had amended my records - I then found out a week or so later my records had not been amended. All things considered my experience of St Luke's was a disappointing one although the staff were all very pleasant.

Left me with a DNR on my file under 50. With a misdiagnosed or should I say message not passed on at all to anyone. Still dying, DNR now removed by another hospital as these people had no right to Do Not Resuscitate Anyone. Still not given correct diagnosis and now on my 3rd cancer!!! Gee thanks
