"Absolutely appalling service from Spring Terrace Health Center. I chased up my first-ever statins prescription three times, which was prescribed by Professor David Ripley, head of cardiology. Despite my repeated efforts, the surgery insisted I must book an appointment with a doctor before they could issue the prescription. I was at the surgery just last week, but they still required me to make an appointment, which can't be scheduled for another week. I have an operation booked for stents to be fitted, so this is a real case of angina. I am not feeling well at the moment, and this delay is causing me additional stress and making me feel even more unwell. The lack of urgency and care in handling such an important prescription is shocking and unacceptable."

Just registered with this practice as my previous practice in Tynemouth who I was only with last couple of years was the worst practice I’ve ever used. After months of trying to get to speak to somebody who actually listened I took the plunge and changed practice I’m so pleased I did. What a refreshing change. I rarely use a GP but when I do I like to feel like my opinion matters and that I have a say in my own health. This surgery answers the phone straight away, (didn’t even get put on hold) and has available appointments without having to wait ages.. The registration process was very easy and staff very efficient. Filled in a short form, dropped off proof of ID. I was on the system before I’d even left the car park! I actually rang them after getting back in car as I’d forgot to mention something and it was dealt with straight away. In one short phone call my previous concerns were dealt with immediately within minutes of registering.. The staff I’ve met so far and also spoken to on phone have been exceptional and very helpful and I feel reassured again to have found a good surgery, plus there is plenty of parking onsite and nearby if car park full, and it’s very easy to find just off main road.

The reception team are really great. My telephone prescription check by the pharmacist however was not. He was very abrupt and did not listen to me at all. It was disappointing as the last check I had was by a lady pharmacist who was very kind and understanding.

I don't usually post reviews of things. However after an awkward situation I was put in by my previous Doctors surgery. I initially spoke to Paula on the phone who was very understanding of my situation and empathetic, when I came in to sign up Laura was extremely friendly and helpful when I was filling out the forms and got me an emergency appointment with one of the Nurses, who herself was absolutely wonderful.
I am very greatful for how seriously I was taken and would like to say thank you. This surgery in my opinion is a credit to the NHS šŸ’•

I haven’t been to my doctors for quite a while but yesterday feeling really ill I gave in and rang to get an appointment.
I was expecting to be told that there were no appointments and I was ready to have to go to the local drop in clinic.
However, the very polite receptionist asked if someone could ring me to discuss my symptoms and I agreed
Within the hour the practice nurse rang listened to my problem and made an appointment for 3pm that day with her.
She examined me and agreed that I had a chest infection. My prescription was then sent electronically to my nominated pharmacist
I see a lot of negativity regarding Doctors Surgeries at the moment but in my case I’d like to offer well deserved praise for a quick and efficient service

Every time I have called, the reception has been polite and helpful. I received doctor call backs, within 30 minutes. When I did see a doctor in person. She was very professional and genuine. I know people get upset about GP's at the moment but, my experience is positive.

I’ve been with the surgery over 5 years. Always been able to get an answer on the phone with little wait. Caring compassionate staff. Really impressed with the set up of how to get an appointment. Efficient practice. Thank you!

Good luck getting an appointment. It rings out and then they terminate the call before you can speak to anyone, then say they have no appointments left when they finally answer and you have to call on a different day. Been miss diagnosed a few times, after going to hospital and finding out that what they suggested to take was wrong.
