Fantastic, did an assessment with my daughter. Sarah was friendly and helpful and carried out the assessment in a way that was perfect for my daughter and me also as a neurodiverse person(parent with Autistic spectrum disorder and young adult daughter with autism) to understand. My 25 year old daughter had reached a point in her life whereby she needed to know what was behind her many struggles and so pursuing a diagnostic assessment for autism was vital. As her Mum, I could see examples of what I thought were traits but accepted and adapted to these. From the age of 13 years, however, her struggles became very pronounced and did start to affect all aspects of her life. Secondary school was very hard and she started masking how she was really feeling, which I now know is very common; particularly amongst girls and women. Years of self medicating with drugs and alcohol led her to crisis point and feeling that an assessment was important. We arranged this with Spectrum Autism and are so glad we did. From the moment we found them to this day and beyond, Sarah and her lovely, caring, and dedicated team made us feel heard and held in mind throughout the whole process. Communication was excellent- we always felt clear on what was happening, when and why. My daughter felt comfortable opening up in the assessment and myself as her Mum, felt reassured throughout. When the diagnosis came, my daughter felt enormous relief and validation. I have seen quite a transformation in her since, in fact. She is understanding herself more, she is better supported in her work and as her Mum, it is a joy to see her accepting herself for the wonderful human she is and no longer asking "why am I like this?". I would absolutely recommend Autism Spectrum services. I really don't think we would have received such caring, specialised, experienced and compassionate care and support from other services. I also know that post diagnostic support is always there for us, which is invaluable. I will always be so grateful to Spectrum Autism for looking after us so well.

I was recommended Spectrum by a friend. The thing that stood out for me when thinking about using them for my son's assessment was that they would come to our home to carry out his assessment (much better than having to do at a clinic, or virtually, like most other providers).
Having now been through the process the other things that stand out to me are how knowledgeable, lovely and responsive everyone is - every step of the way we felt supported. Also the report we received is so thorough with so many ideas for onward support! The follow up call was also very beneficial as it allowed us to ask questions and gain confidence in how to proceed going forward. I honestly couldn't recommend Spectrum highly enough - they made, what I thought would be an overwhelming experience, feel very positive and supported.
