I had an eye test in this shop, and requested a copy of it emailed to me. The attendant charged me £5 which I was happy to pay as I needed the copy - but they never sent it to me which is quite frustrating considering you were quite fast in taking the payment over the phone. Not sure if the review alarms you, but such an easy task to perform in minutes should not take you weeks especially if you don’t do it for free.

Really good experience in specsavers Maidenhead. Staff really understanding and helpful. Lady who tested my eyes explained everything and lady who helped me find frames was amazing. All done under an hour.
1 week later my glasses were back. They checked they fitted, adjusted them and I’m looking forward to using my 50% off voucher in the New Year. Again, really efficient, in and out of shop in 1/2 hour, didn’t feel rushed and avoided paying car parking as well

It's not perfect; The shop can get a bit busy and noisy with the few seats in the waiting area often all taken, HOWEVER, I'm still reviewing as 5 stars because I'm the most content with my eyewear since buying from Specsavers around 2 years ago than I've been for a VERY long time.
Shout out to Liam for taking the time to measure the bifocal lenses so carefully plus all the genuinely helpful advice.

I had an appalling experience at this opticians. Despite knowing I have autism, the staff completely ignored me and left me waiting for 30 minutes without assistance to choose and fit my glasses, as I was promised. Instead, they prioritised customers who arrived after me. Feeling frustrated and excluded, I left the shop.

I returned the next day with a friend who explained what had happened to the receptionist. Rather than apologising, she blamed me for not speaking up the day before, completely disregarding how autism impacts communication. This response was unprofessional and demonstrated a lack of basic understanding or care for my situation.

Their treatment made me feel like a second-class citizen because of my disability. It’s unacceptable that a company can behave this way, especially when the Equality Act 2010 exists to prevent such discrimination. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone and urge others to think twice before using their services.

Shop staff very friendly and helpful. However, I had to stop my eye exam half way through as I found the optician was extremely bullish when asking me questions I felt under pressure to give the RIGHT answer. I feel he needs to go on a refresher course for his bedside manner.

Shop assistant helped me find the frames and after wearing the lenses, I noticed a difficulty while watching the screen and came back to them. They were helpful and sorted out the problem, ordered a change of glasses asap without problems.

The only positive experience for Specsavers in Maidenhead is the parking with easy access to the store. Terrible attitude with all the staff (seems a toxic environment to work in with some bullying), equipment not cleaned between customers, no one smiling, long customer waiting queue. Staff just standing around by the till. The person (a male) doing the diagnostic tests hurt my chin and nearly poked my eye out without an apology. Definitely will not be using this store again and will make sure to spread the word that there are better options available other than the Maidenhead Specsavers store.
