Went in for an eye test having not been for one since 2019.
Work paid for it; and the glasses that followed. Very easy to book the appointment, I did it all online and answered the additional questions.

On the day of the test I paid £5 extra for the glaucoma test, again this was very easy to do, paid for in store. The voucher from work didn't appear to work too well but the staff were very accommodating.
They talked me through every test and then when it was time to pick some glasses there was no pressure applied to me to pick expensive ones.

Overall a good service. Returned a week later to collect my glasses and no problems whatsoever. Would return.

Extremely professional and friendly staff work here. I was tested and fitted with new bifocals quickly. The frame selection was terrific and I am 💯 happy with my new specs!!! A real pleasure dealing with Hartlepool Specsavers.

From the telephone call to book my appointment to my first visit where my eye test took place to the appointment a mere 1 week later to collect my glasses, I am really happy with the exemplary levels of service I received. You really have got the most attentive, warm & welcoming members of staff employed here. Which is a huge difference to a visit years ago where the member of staff asked what I did for a living and her response upon me telling her at that time I was Cabin Crew, said "I thought you had to be skinny to be Cabin Crew" much to my horror. Service levels are now impeccable. I certainly recommend.

Excellent experience at the Hartlepool store of Specsavers. Friendly helpful and professional staff, a client orientated environment where the whole process is seamless. I would highly recommend Specsavers Hartlepool when looking for the services of an optician. Although I haven't used the audio service I can imagine the same friendly and professional service would apply.

Having been a customer of Specsavers for over 20 years today is definitely my last

I appreciate that things change and so does management but over the last 3 years I have seen excuse the pun a rapid decline in customer service despite some original and experienced excellent staff still being here despite the poor changes

It feels to myself and family that it is all about the money not customer care anymore, I know I am difficult to deal with due to my PTSD but even my 16year old daughter committed on how rude staff can be

We visited the store before Christmas and the optician was excellent as was the lady that did the peri feral test but that is where the good stuff stops. I could not believe the language and the behaviour of several young staff clowning around being very loud and even witnessed one getting on another’s back
My Daughter was distressed at the noise and asked me several times if I was ok which she shouldn’t have to, I did try to keep a lid on how I was feeling and asked if someone with more experience could help to choose a frame that we could get a good result with due to my daughters high prescription

In the end we had to give up and return another day for a contact lens appointment, which we did run late due to very bad traffic on the way into Hartlepool my fault, but I called in to say running late and was told to still head in arrived at shop with again a young and quite aggressive manner told no you can not be seen to late

I called in later that week apologised and again explained my PTSD and booked appointment for another date, unfortunately checked with school and they said they would not approve as daughter was having to attend exam ready

My daughter also has anxiety issues so best we see staff that she knows Chris has always been excellent after Ian Walker retired as has Sharron, I called back within 10 minutes and cancelled the appointment that we could not attend and moved to another date on the weekend

Today more texts and phone calls to check if attending which I said no and apologised saying we had rebooked for Saturday then told no you haven’t cancelled and rebooked again staff member seemed frustrated again I apologised and explained my condition

I then had to stage I was not happy and I was not making things up possibly caused as a member of staff had not put in appointment diary

Unfortunately due to all the other bits of poor service over the last few years and the poor handling of my mothers glasses on several occasions, I can no longer go back to place that I once felt comfortable in as did my daughter

I would not recommend to go here unless you are getting looked after by those that had great training from Ian Walker the opticians are great just front of house staff need a lesson in good old fashioned customer service, I blame the management not the staff that clearly are poorly managed

Gave 2 stars as good service from optician
