I’m shocked that you can get anybody into see a doctor in this Medical Centre. I waited today in a queue of 43 people just to get an appointment. Only to be told there was nothing available to the end of January. I don’t blame the person I spoke to she was helpful. I blame the people that run this establishment. You need a kick up the arse. Those who need to sort your telephone system out get off your backsides and do something. We left the 80s years ago so stop having a telephone system like it. I think myself and others need to find a doctor’s that have a clue how to see the patient on the day of the phone call they’re making. furthermore, I visited the place yesterday. I was shocked to speak with a sour faced receptionist. Who I found was unhelpful and a waste of time speaking to, try cracking a smile out of her when meeting patient as they walk in the door would help. Maybe she needs to be retrained in people skills if she’s not happy leave !!! . I’ve never known a Medical Centre like it in all my life.

I've been a patient at this surgery for nearly 30 years. There have been times when I've been exasperated by waiting times and issues. However, I just felt I needed to share a top review about one of the receptionists called Tom. He is superb. Everytime I've spoken to him he has gone out if his way to be helpful. Thankyou Tom.

I came here due to severe chest pains and passing out.
The single-celled organism calling herself a doctor sent me home without referral.
I was in A&E at 2am later that week for 2 blood transfusions to treat anemia.

The staff are lovely, but almost impossible to get through on the phone let alone get an appointment, if anything it's getting worse than the beginning of the pandemic. Trying to get some results for the last couple of weeks and can't get through as the line is full and told to call back

Edit, Jan 2025

I have tried for weeks to get an appointment for my daughter, I've tried calling at different times of day, I've been in in person, I've filled in the form online and noone called me back. I don't need an emergency appointment or same day, I'll take any day at any time but you can't book in advance. I called today at exactly 8am and the phone lines are full and I can't even wait in the queue. It is unbelievable how awful this system is.

Yes it's difficult to get through, but that is not the fault of the receptionist. Somebody needs to work on the telephone appointment system in place.
However, when I did get through, Gazala was absolutely fantastic. She was a ray of sunshine who bent over backwards to help me with an appointment for my father in law.
Think if you're frustrated because the queues are so long, how the poor receptionists feel with 50 people in a queue, and hundreds more trying to join the queue who are frustrated and angry when they do get through. Spare a thought for those marvellous staff taking abuse all day.

Absolutely atrocious service from reception staff. I was asked to make a follow up appointment by the GP however the surgery have no available appointments. I have tried several times both by telephone and in person but have been told there are no available appointments and try again tomorrow. Apparently ther clinics only run 2 weeks in advance. Whenever I call in the morning I can't get through having waited in line for over 40 minutes. I asked to speak to the manager but apparently she is always in a meeting. My condition is deteriorating and I can't get an appointment to see my GP.

I would not recommend this surgery.

The situation at this surgery has become progressively worse over the years. Recently I tried to call for an appointment. After a week of trying at different times of the day I still could not get to speak to anyone. Consistently told they were at capacity and call back. My husband actually went up to the surgery to attempt on my behalf. He was told I should phone at 8am. Obviously I had done many times. I eventually phoned 111 in exasperation. Unbelievably they got me an appointment . When I finally was asked to come to the surgery for my appointment I waited 40 minutes...even though I was the only person waiting. I work full time and the stress just to get to speak to someone is completely unacceptable. This time I am looking to move away from this practice.
