We've been using this company since October. Our experience has been very positive, receiving reliable help is very reassuring. They are helping in most areas to ensure my friend can live well in sheltered housing.
If problems arise, they are most graceful and receptive (unlike Tameside adult services and many other businesses within this are who act defensively).

Company promised the world but regularly failed.

Did not regularly send qualified carers.

On one occasion they had a new starter for one week, who then within two weeks were training another new starter when the initial new started was regularly failing to provide care as requested.

We were overcharged by this company, and when raised as an issue they then threatened to take care completely away like some sick power trip. We collected information on the carers, and are currently building evidence to send to the QCC, and oddly enough when this was mentioned to their managers we received a phone call that day offering to continue to provide us services.

There was one occasion where one of their carers was entering the property on his own accord, but due to staff issues they kept sending him even though the patient with dementia didn't feel comfortable.

Keep documentation of every visit, and ensure to have carers fill in a log and ensure to have cameras inside the property with this company.

If they turn up and do 10 minutes they will charge for 15, if they turn up for 25 they will charge for 30 so ensure you are monitoring all of their staff ins, and outgoings. In the space of a year they will get you with with charging you full hours for times they do not stick to.

When a loved one is in need of care it can be one of the most difficult times of their life. As a family member to find the right people can be daunting. Having met the carers at Sams helping hands they have been like extended family. Showing compassion and care in everything that they do and a respect in their role for all family members with a sympathetic ear and professionalism. They have been a god send.
