The first time i left saffron house i was feeling quite hopeful. The counsellor was great and put out a plan of what we would do in our next session. He wanted a medical consultant to be present so we could discuss changing my anti depressants and giving more insight into DPDR.
The second (and last) time i went there i saw a completely different person. She made me go through all the same information again, even though she had thorough notes from my last session.
She then went into another room to speak to the medical consultant. I was left in the room by myself for almost an hour. The medical consultant came in and appeared disinterested with my problems.
Even though a medication change had been discussed in my previous session the consultant, instead gave me leaflets that he printed from google and that was it.
It would seem that unless youโ€™re on the verge of a complete mental breakdown, theyโ€™re not interested in helping you. I left the appointment feeling so disappointed and miserable which is why I will not be going back there again and I would recommend that people seek help elsewhere.

I am not impressed with the way they are dealing with my mum's mental health they are not taking me seriously and my mum is going to get worse I have told them that my mum is not sleeping well not eating well taking too many paracetamol and drinking alcohol. she has bipolar and they are saying that it's not to do with mental health but it is as everyone knows if you don't sleep well, eat well and have alcohol and too many paracetamol especially with the medication she is on it can affect your mental health and the things she is doing are not normal and they really are not taking me seriously all they said is they are using her age as an the way she is. what do you have to do to get the right help before it's too late

The last time I asked for help from this mental health team after a period of despairing and struggling to cope the consultant psychiatrist leant across the table and told me in a condescending tone "those are pseudo hallucinations which means they aren't real" and recommended psychological services as an alternative to their help. They clearly don't communicate as I had not long tried that and found the group therapy I was offered unhelpful.

I struggled on. After breaking down on the phone saying I struggle more than I care to admit admin staff at my Dr's surgery referred me back to here. The psychologist I was referred to was sometimes late or unavailable for my appointments to which I was never apologised to or informed of unavailability by them.

They never took me seriously and just seemed to not care. I had no choice but to find money to go private and have since been diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder along with another disorder. Never again will I turn to this so called centre of help and I would advise anyone doing so to have 0 expectations to avoid disappointment and upset.

I would give zero if I could! Absolutely pathetic my sister with severe issues got referred to this horrible useless centre a home visit was arranged NO ONE SHOWED UP asked to rearrange and then got a phone call saying thereโ€™s no point coming without a consultant requested a home visit with consultation only because I knew it wonโ€™t be possible to go into the centre did not get the home visit with the consultant sister refused visit to centre AND THEN I GET A CALL SAYING SHES BEEN DISCHARGED BECAUSE SHE DID NOT SHOW UP what else were they expecting From a mentally ill person who is refusing treatment ? They take mental health as a joke!
