Many worlds need to collide to create perfection, but that is what has happened with Run Walk Local Portsmouth. The core team did everything in their power to overcome the adversity of losing a major sponsor and ‘that’ pandemic, to doggedly seek out a way to allow runners/walkers of all abilities to take part in an inclusive, free, family feel 5/2k on a Sunday. For no monetary gain they dedicate their time to ensuring people get the best experience weekly. A lot can be learned from the team - not least by some of their peers. This is how it should be - and I for one cannot thank you enough.

I really enjoy running with RWL on a Sunday morning. Everyone is so friendly, supportive and welcoming, it feels like a big family.
I love how everyone supports and encourages each other. Great people, great friends and great fun! 🏃‍♀️

I really look forward to Sunday mornings at RWL because everyone is so welcoming and friendly. When I first started running here I didn’t know anybody but it didn’t take long to recognise regular faces and exchange a wave or a nod, and then a “morning “ as you pass each other on the course. I’ve made some really good friends here.
The volunteer team go out of their way to make this an all inclusive event whether you choose to walk, jog or run with their encouraging words and clapping at regular points around the course. It really is a great way to start a Sunday.

What the RWL Team has done here is amazing.
It’s such a friendly family atmosphere with both 5k and 2k options which is great.
All ages and abilities are welcome, whether you run the course or walk it.
Come along and give it a try. You won’t be disappointed 😀
