Thank goodness for this company. Given the back log in the NHS and the amount some companies charged, I was so grateful to come across RTN. All the staff were very professional, compassionate and considerate of our needs. Their response time was efficient and they answered all our queries and questions in a timely manner. The Clinician was brilliant and understood and conducted a very positive assessment using pauses and breaks when needed. They were very knowledgeable and provided a comprehensive report to us and identified our child's needs. We found the whole process quick, from referral to diagnostic report. I would definitely recommend this company.

The whole process, from application to diagnosis, took 8 months (May 2024 to Jan 2025). I felt as though I was constantly begging for information and communication from them, and did not feel like a priority. From the assessment to the report, I waited a total of 18 weeks. Initially, I was told it would take 4 weeks. Then, 6-8 weeks. I didn't mind waiting, but after no update, I felt as though I had to constantly badger them just to be reassured they were still working on it! 18 weeks is far longer than I was told I would wait, however it's still much faster than the NHS (I'm still on the waiting list after 3 years!). If communication was better, I would give more stars, but I definitely felt left in the dark in several areas. The report is very detailed and I do feel as though it was a thorough assessment that has left me in no doubt about the outcome.

I was referred to RTN by my GP through NHS Right to Choose as the waiting list in my area is over 2 years! The staff were really helpful and the process was quick at the start. There was a bit of a delay getting the report back, but I was really impressed with the detail of the report once I got it. I would highly recommend them. Seen some negative reviews on here from people waiting weeks or months for their reports. Whilst I agree this is frustrating, especially once you have completed the assessment process, I could not find anyone who was able to complete the process quicker than RTN as even most private providers have a waiting list of 1+ years. I would definitely recommend RTN to others.

I had my assessment in October and was told I would receive my report in 6-8 weeks. After 7 weeks I called to ask for an update and was told I wasn't even at the first review stage. I called again a week later and was told my report would be given to a clinical psychologist that day, however I called again today and was told the same thing, so the report obviously wasn't passed on to the psychologist 2 weeks ago. I've now been told it will take another 4 weeks to receive my report. I've already been waiting 11 weeks and I'm very disappointed with how long this is taking, I've spent a lot of money and now I wish I'd chosen a different company, clearly RTN have taken on more clients than they can handle. At this point I just want to know whether I've been given a diagnosis or not, it's incredibly stressful waiting weeks to know whether I have a potentially life changing diagnosis or not.

I started the assessment 8 months ago. Finally got my assessment call just over 3 months ago. Was told the report would be 6-8 weeks. I still haven't received anything through from them after 3 months despite multiple unanswered phone calls and emails.

EDIT: RTN contacted me saying they'd call with an update. Yes, I did receive a call, and yes they did promise I'd receive my report by the beginning of last week. But NO. I still haven't received in over a week after the promise. Broken promises šŸ˜”

Initially I was very impressed with the speed and professionalism of RTN. However my daughter had her final assessment in July and I still haven’t received the report detailing the results. Over the last 6-8 weeks I have rung numerous times leaving messages and asking for a call back to find out any information on what is happening. Despite leaving message after message with my name, contact number and detailing my reason for calling I have still not heard back from them! No message, no email, no call. NOTHING!!! Appalling service! Would not recommend. They were quick enough to take nearly Ā£1000 from me but won’t even return my call to tell me the results of the assessment!

I ā€œcompletedā€ my autism assessments (interviews and questionnaires) in the middle of November 2024. I was told that my results should follow soon, so I waited. I ended up receiving an email shortly after completing all of the assessments saying that they were ā€œmissing informant dataā€ from my school, which is factually untrue as the teacher that completed my questionnaire for me received a confirmation email from RTN that her questionnaire was received. The questionnaire was then re-sent, and my teacher filled it out for a second time, and I confirmed with RTN that they had received this information. I was also told that they could not provide a time frame of roughly when I would receive my results, which was frustrating but understandable because of the high demand for these assessments.
Fast forward to the end of January, I emailed and asked if there were any updates whatsoever on my results as the deadline for university applications was extremely close, and it would’ve been extremely helpful to receive my results so I could add them to my application and communicate this to the universities. I then received an email to say that ā€œfollowing my diagnostic interview the assessor will write up my reportā€, yet I completed all of my diagnostic interviews MONTHS prior? I replied to this email and asked what this meant as I had completed everything months ago, but a few days passed and I received no response so I called RTN (something I should have done a lot earlier, but I hate phone calls). I ended up speaking to someone on the phone, who was lovely and tried to help me to the best of his ability but did also inform me that they still did not have some informant data, despite me confirming they had received it all in November. He then ā€œdug aroundā€ the system and did end up finding the information- but then informed me that an AQ-10 questionnaire needed to be filled out. I was never sent this questionnaire, and neither was anyone around me who was involved in my diagnostic process, and I was never informed this was missing. Had I not called, I likely would not have known for months that my report could not be written up due to missing data. The person on the phone told me that it would likely be another 3/4 weeks before I received my report, which I accepted even though it had been over the 11 weeks RTN advertise as their diagnostic process length.
Then yesterday, two weeks after my original phone call, I received an email that said that my report was ONLY NOW entering the first review stage, and that I should contact them again in ANOTHER 3/4 weeks to request an update.
I genuinely am not one to leave a bad review, but this is actually ridiculous. RTN advertise themselves as a service providing fast and easy assessments, when this has been anything but that. It has been a total of 13 weeks since what was supposed to be the end of my assessment, and to find out that my report is nowhere close to being complete is extremely stressful and disheartening. I understand that RTN is likely swamped with new patients to assess, but there is absolutely no excuse for losing sensitive data in your system. I do not recommend RTN for this sole reason, as I would not trust them in the future to be able to carry out an assessments without the threat of data being ā€œlostā€, or just an entire lack of communication. I am so stressed, upset and disappointed.

After struggling to make sense of some long-standing challenges, I decided it was time to pursue a private autism assessment for myself. A few years ago, we went through the NHS process with my daughter, so I had a sense of what to expect. This time, I chose RTN after doing a lot of research online and they absolutely surpassed my expectations.

The process started with extensive forms and video calls, and RTN’s attention to detail was incredible (notably Bethanie-Jayne). They used every possible assessment tool, spent three hours speaking with me over video calls, and even consulted with my husband and brother for additional perspectives. It felt like they were building a truly complete picture, and I appreciated that so much.

One thing that really stood out was their flexibility. Being able to spread the cost of the assessment over several months made it much more manageable. They also follow NICE guidelines, so when I received my diagnosis, there were no issues with it being recognised by the NHS which was a huge relief.

At one point, communication slowed down after the main assessments, and I started to feel a bit left in the dark. But as soon as I raised my concerns, the team, especially Michael, went above and beyond to get things back on track and complete the process in a timely manner. Their effort and responsiveness didn’t go unnoticed, and I really appreciated how they rallied to make things right.

The final report was so detailed, and what I loved most was its balance. It didn’t just focus on areas where I struggle but also highlighted my strengths and gave clear, practical suggestions for moving forward.

If you’re an adult thinking about a private autism assessment, I can’t recommend RTN highly enough. They were professional, supportive, and genuinely cared about making sure the process was thorough and accurate.

Many thanks again to the RTN team,

Victoria
