The Royal Sussex County Hospital 🏥 is very clean and nice & fresh looking the buildings are huge i spoke to to a member of staff when i attended my appointment about how easy it was to get lost in the newly built Hospital. there are 2 carparks the multi storey at the back of the hospital plus an underground carpark below the Louisa Martindale Building the lift from the underground parking only goes to the main reception area (pictures shown below ⬇️) the Louisa Martindale Building is the middle building. The hospital staff are extremely helpful and i was seen Very quickly for my X-rays ☢️ and by the way if you hold a blue badge ♿️ the parking is free ‼️

I was admitted to the A&E department of the RSCH last week quite severely ill and I have nothing but praise for all the staff. Despite being under staffed and amid all the pressure they were under, they gave me the best care possible be it on the professional side or human touch. I am well on the way to full recovery and I cannot thank the staff enough for their dedication, professionalism, humility and kindness. Thank you thank you RSCH staff.

My husband was unfortunate to have a stroke on New Years Day. He was rushed to Sussex county hospital and I must say the care he received was fantastic. From the cleaners to the chefs the nurses the occupational therapists the doctors everybody was absolutely fantastic and gave him the best care imaginable. The new hospital wing wards B10 and C10 are a credit to the NHS. I would like to say a big thank you to you all

I was treated as a priority patient having hit my head in a fall. A&E was very busy. It looked like chaos to my visitors. But in reality there were just a lot of people there being treated. Some of the patients were loud, angry, moaning, shouting and not helping anyone. But the staff were helping everyone equally and were brilliant under huge pressure. I was proud of them and so were most being helped. Don't knock the NHS. We all need it.

I visited Royak Sussex A&E yesterday evening as I had just had a rather bloody fall on Brighton s unique seafront curbstones!
Having received some almost instant and compassionate care from passersby at the site of the fall, one of whom produced a totally magical icepack, my wife whisked me the short distance to A&E. I walked into A&E, a stumbling old man shedding blood everywhere. I was dealt with immediately by competent, compassionate staff who staunched the blood flow and cleaned me. Subsequent treatment was of the same standard and I cannot praise the whole team too much. Thank you

My daughter was cared for in Level 11 East, Gynaecology Inpatients. The nurses, Doctors and surgeons were without exception, brilliant. Susan seemed to be the main nurse in charge for us - she inspired confidence and was incredibly assured and caring. The best experience. Thank you.

The new hospital design and layout is utterly bizarre—so much empty space, with long distances between everything. It’s deeply flawed. The reception desk is enormous and completely unnecessary—remember, this is public money. The corridors are a maze of long, sterile white walkways.

As for the old wards at the back, the nurses and all staff are wonderful, but the wards themselves are swelteringly hot. It’s incredible how nurses and doctors manage 12-hour shifts with barely any airflow. As a patient, the heat was unbearable. The staff are the only reason it was even remotely tolerable.

The food is some of the worst I’ve ever eaten—just junk, the cheapest of the cheap TV-dinner food, with nothing remotely healthy on offer. I wasn’t expecting gourmet cuisine, but I also didn’t expect food so lacking in nutritional value.

I was referred to the hospital for a chest X-ray. I'd been dreading and postponing it. Eventually I went and was amazed:

Great new light building (I remember it as dark and dingy), friendly staff pointing me in the right direction, in and out within 15 minutes, friendly and efficient radiologists, results back within the hour! (All good!)

The NHS at its best! Thank you!
