I stayed on two wards at Blackburn Royal, wards B14 and C22 for 6 days at the start of Jan. The care from the nurses I received was fantastic. They did a great job, I really can not fault them at all.
Thank you for the care you gave me over my time at the hospital, it's really appreciated.

My son was taken to a+e with a life threatening condition due to his diabetes. The ambulance staff got him there very quickly and he was put in the β€œmajors” immediately. Everyone was very helpful even though they were run off their feet. I am a retired nurse and have never seen scenes in the corridors like I saw, there were patients queued up everywhere!!!!
My son’s nurse Shama Qayyum was the most attentive caring beautiful person who made a point of putting her patients and their families minds at ease. She was doing a fantastic job under so much pressure. We need more like this lovely lady.

Horrendous experience. Urgent care centre has a tiny waiting room for the ill patients and people are coughing, vomiting etc to be put in a room with ill patients with a baby for 5hours is beyond belief. Went in with my 6 year old daughter who had severe abdominal pains at 11.45pm and got seen at 5am then transferred to the children's assessment unit, she could have died if this pain was something more serious. She even vomited because she couldn't handle the pain! Was sat in the tiny waiting room with all the ill patients till we got seen. I adviced the doctor that we had just been seen by the out of hours doctor at 11pm and he sent us to urgent care as he adviced she may need scans. I brought the report with me and was still told to wait 5 hours for an assessment. I'm absolutely shocked and appalled that this is how bad the NHS has become. We pay our taxes for what?! You may as well privatise the NHS as your robbing people anyway!! We are not getting the service we should be getting! I can't blame staff because they are understaffed. There's simply no budget in the NHS where's our money going?!!!

I was taken onto ward C18b for the blood clots in my leg. I cannot fault the care I received, nor can I honestly criticize any of the staff from cleaners to ward Sister. I was treated with kindness and compassion, and we had a few laughs along the way. Thank you ladies and gents - be good, and if you can't be - be careful

My dad has been on C7 and all the staff have been amazing. Their care for my family and my dad has been just wonderful. The bereavement nurse Selema spoke to my sister and myself with caring knowledge and gave the best hugs. Thank you to all the ward staff you have made a painful experience bearable and given me so much peace.

My husband came to A&E with quite worrying symptoms. The staff were amazing. We had a long 9 hour stay in the emergency department with lots of tests and scans and throughout it all the staff were caring, happy and attentive. Their relationships with eachother were a joy to see, especially in times of such cuts and hardships. They worked with what they had and did an amazing job!

Joke of a hospital after being purposely to take over services from Burnley. Lines of people sadly queued in beds so regularly along corridors, outside lifts that they have numbered them. They have no privacy, no dignity, men and women lined alongside each other. Absolutely scandalous, despite the beds upstairs in the wards closed off and empty. Poor management on show here bringing the services below the level of developing countries. The medical staff do what they can but its the management who are a disgrace to the country. For the sake of privacy i will not post any photos, but this cannot continue. Something needs to be done.
