👍 Reviews of Roseberry Park Hospital

The level of so called care at this hospital is absolutely disgusting. I was admitted feeling suicidal and trying to end my life. The very next day I had a meeting with the doctors and even though I made it clear the thought was still there they told me to go home and work with the community mental health team. I left the hospital with no offer of any transport to get home which is 40 miles away. I was that wound up I immediately left the hospital and walked to the motorway, stood on the bridge and was about to jump when the police pulled up and stopped me. They took me back to the hospital for me to be told AGAIN that I don't need to be in hospital and they just let me walk out again. If I could give a minus star rating I would. Absolutely disgusting.

There's too many psychiatrists coming and going we don't know if they have any qualifications don't know the patients they've helped or not they don't look into mental health records some changed some lost.
Some psychiatrist is not medical trained it's called trial and error and wouldn't give their own the same treatments never mind malpractice they gave me.
Unfortunately they didn't know me from Adam but I soon worked them out soon remembered them working in the 1980s into the 2000s.
The patient gets fully discharged as the psychiatrist can't do anymore classing them as well, stable.
They suffer as there isn't anymore tablet reviews I see the side effects they don't !
The doctors take over and say your stable we can't take you off any medication but maybe wants to add.
The patient makes others ill in the family they suffer but nothing still gets done !
I've had side effects from a cocktail of psychiatric drugs injections even electric shock in the 1980s I suffered they were supposed to be at a prescribed rate and I remember them forcing me down to the electric shock treatment room.
They remember the side effects they should remember my poor mother coming in to see me twice a day coming in crying going out crying.
I'm on 7 tablets a day have no followed on care except 3 hours a week with arthritis and gout also effecting me is a mental scar and a scandal that's been covered up. Well folks do you wish to hear more ?
The names of the psychiatrists the name of the psychiatric nurses do you want to hear how I made them look small and saw miracles which they said was a coincidence.
Hear the full story on national television. Didn't need to put all this as their in trouble with the law already.
It's a crazy mental health system I've always called the " cartoon network " I suppose I could help people more if I got sorted out with a few problems I'm sure I could barter with them if not I hope they loose the lot they have already lost the plot and lost their minds !
God bless bye

Unfortunately the psychiatrists don’t use different techniques different alternatives towards your wellbeing unfortunately still the psychiatrists believe in pills injections and electric shock treatments.
I got lots of expensive , unnecessary treatments but still taking pills will the psychiatrists ever find sense ?
I do feel sorry for their patients with withdrawal, side effects and bad experiences from decades or just a few years.
They wouldn’t treat their own like they treat us one day I asked them that question but funny enough they didn’t answer !
All take care try not to worry there is light at the end of the tunnel and the psychiatrists will do a lot better to most of them we are just a number , salt of the earth one patient told me.
They wouldn’t like their wife / husband , car , house or luxuries inc holidays cancelled or took off them but who knows when the truth comes out that’s the consequences they could be faced with.
Sorry for those who had or having bad experiences but if I could use minus stars I certainly would - 10⭐️

I wish to thank all the staff on Overdale Ward for their amazing care of my daughter, she was only there a short time until she was moved to a hospital closer to home. She was very poorly, vulnerable and distressed when admitted and the staff on the ward took wonderful care of her.
They were empathetic and kind in spite of it being a very busy ward. Exceptional staff, so patient and caring a credit to their profession, respect and thanks from myself, daughter and her family for your compassionate care, it will never be forgotten. Barbara

I was hospitalized here for 26 days during my Youth Mobility Visa in May 2021. They do not understand autistic people; when I was there, there were too many different uniforms and cycling staff that it made trying to get any kind of help near impossible. I don't think I saw the same nurse/doctor twice. They over medicated me. They moved me through 3 different wards and did not even properly communicate with their own staff about these changes so when I was brought to my new room, someone else's name was there and it did NOT help my mental confusion. I genuinely thought I was getting trafficked because of how unorganized and unprofessional these nurses and doctors were. I understand that I believe this was part of a teaching program but you do not put students in where professionals need to be there. We are not study projects or test subjects, we are real people with real issues and we need real doctors.
Shout out to Toni though who asked me what kind of witch I was and then proceeded to call me cosmic for the rest of my stay like some kind of coven initiation. And to Hannah who gave me her socks when mine were all dirty. I hope you guys are doing okay ♥

If I could give no stars, I would. Fails to keep patients safe, poor communication with families, a high proportion of Autistic people, labelled personality disorder.
No therapy, over medicated and harm is facilitated and accepted leading to preventable deaths. People are not collateral damage. Sign the petition at locked up to call for a public inquiry into the failings with this Trust

I can only speak from my own experience of being here. I stayed on the Bransdale Ward, back in year 2014. Me and a few of the other female patients in the ward, we had a great laugh, together, most of the time. Staff were good with me. I found them quite understanding and humourous. It's nothing like them old sixties movies. Things have been updated a lot since then. It's not as scary as you imagine it being, going into a psychiatric hospital. It's also not like the 'Girl Interrupted' movie. I can see why some people who have never been in a psychiatric hospital would think that, but it's more down-to-earth than that. I mean, yeah, you get the odd one or two patients who are violent, but the best thing to do, if it frightens you when a patient kicks off, is take yourself either to your bedroom, or out for a walk on the hospital grounds. Just take yourself out of the way of bad situations. They have lovely communal gardens. I don't regret my decision to come to this hospital. It's a good thing. My life wouldn't have changed, if I hadn't volunteered to stay here. I wasn't forced to come here against my will. I had a gut feeling that it would help me improve. I remember some of the nurses names. I wouldn't like to think that I'd ever need to stay in a psychiatric hospital ever again, but I wouldn't go into one, lightly. Only if it's absolutely necessary, then I would stay in one again. I got along okay with the staff who work here. Dawn, one of the cleaners, she was always a good laugh. She'd try to cheer me up, whenever she came to clean my bedroom. She's a diamond. They work here to try to help us.i don't know if it's changed that much since I last stayed here. I have to admit, I was uncomfortable with the staff, having to monitor me while I ate my meals, in the canteen, but I knew why it had to be done. Roseberry Park Hospital staff, Thanks for looking after me. 🙂
