It was my first time here and can confirm that it was a smooth process.
The receptionist was friendly and advised accordingly, and the doctor who saw me (forgot his name but he was wonderful) apologised for the lateness (to be expected at a doctors) and was very thorough and put me at ease, offered many solutions to work with.
I’ve just moved into the area and signed up to Rivermead and will happily go back again 🙂

I am very happy with my treatment since we moved here a year last February. I find the receptionists pleasant and very helpful and the admin staff behind the scenes have also helped me efficiently with necessary paperwork, amongst other things, recently. The doctors whom I have seen have been thorough and pleasant. I rarely have to wait long for my phone calls to be answered, but I haven't had to go through the dreaded 8am call yet. Just a couple of small 'blips' in 18 months, which isn't bad going.

I have had nothing but helpful and kind interactions from the doctors and nurses. There was a time when at least one member of secretary staff was consistently rude and unhelpful but either new staffing or training has improved things and again I have had nothing but good interactions recently

Poor, can't see why I need to justify why I missed a doctor's appointment when a personal issue has taken me away from the said appointment, then you can't get on line to cancel it. Not the first time.

Shame only people with bad experiences come to Google to moan, so thought I'd share that I have had a great experience with this GP so far. Registered with them and got confirmation I was all set up the same day, got given an appointment for 3 days later, my nurse was very friendly and didn't have to wait long at all to be seen. Good advise and everything resolved on my visit. Much better than my previous GP in London!

This GP surgery is honestly awful. I understand most GP surgeries are slow and backed up but River Mead Gate really takes the top place.
I have been back and forth since September 23 with a shoulder issue which is affecting my everyday life and I possibly need surgery. They have lied to me about referrals. Not sent my referrals but told me they have and it’s taken myself to ring the places I have been referred too to find out they have lied. 3 weeks again with my referral apparently siting with this imaginary secretary that clearly doesn’t do much work. They try and guilt trip constantly about “ cancer referrals come first “ of course they come first, they should be sent the same day according to the NHS website but I can’t imagine that’s being done either. This still doesn’t mean non urgent referrals take over 3 weeks to even be sent off. The receptionists are rude, laugh down the phone at you, refuse to help and lie. The GP doesn’t explain anything to you and sees you for 2 minutes before ushering you out, he is also late every single time I go there. This place is an absolute shambles and seriously needs to be looked into properly.

Surprised by the amount of low reviews this GP has! I have had nothing but a positive experience at this GP surgery, if not one of the best surgeries I have been assigned to in my lifetime! Both me and my partner have been with this surgery for a year and they always get you either same day or next day appointments. The doctors are very, very caring - Im not used to it really. They are actually concerned for you about your issues, ive seen two women doctors about some woman-specific issues and both have been very reassuring and gone through the options available to me for help or treatment. The receptionists are cold, but honestly that is like every GP in the UK so what do you expect - get used to it! As an actual medical centre, I totally give 5 stars!

Just because receptionists are ‘patient care navigators’ does NOT mean they know more than the patient about their requirements for a medical professional. They are NOT doctors. They are NOT medically trained. They have no right to tell me which professional I need to see. That’s between me and my doctor - also why ask me what my ailment is AFTER you’ve booked it and then tell me I need a different doctor…. It’s ridiculous and the tone, condescending manner and demeanour of these receptionists further leaves me speechless. They speak to us as if we’re stupid.
