We hired a wheelchair for one day, for a trip to Knaresborough. We booked it the day before, on the phone, the conversation could not have been more helpful, because we were unfamiliar with using a chair or what would fit in our car. Collection was quick and easy, and the owner was really kind to us and my family. We had a lovely day, for a variety of reasons, it was very special for us, enabled by the excellent service we had here. Would thoroughly recommend.

Better than perfect. We came to Harrogate for the Motability Big Day. On our way home my wife had a rollator failure. A Google reach found Rise so as they opened on rage Saturday morning we arrived. A lady was asking about similar devices. There was no high pressure sales.Top be honest there was no pressure to buy at all, but we found a great rollator at a good price & ended up switch a few extra items. We felt valued & safe in the hands of this guy. We may ;live over by the east coast but we are now sure we shall return to purchase a new electric home raise chair. Not because this store is cheapest - but the prices are very decent - but because we felt valued as customers & with no pressure to purchase we feel safe to ask for unbiased useful assistance. No upselling, no pressure, no condescending talk because you are elderly & not sure what you are doing - a real honest store run by someone who cares for his customers. We cannot praise this store highly enough

Went into Rise Furniture and Mobility today looking for comfortable and wide fitting shoes. Met Mr.Carl Drake who I had spoken to on the phone earlier to find out if they had my kind of shoes in stock.
Mr. Drake was very kind, helpful and courteous. He gave me great advice in regards to the type of shoes that would give me a good balance as well as support my swollen and sore feet due to polio. Mr. Drake went the extra mile to ensure I choose the right shoes that fitted perfectly and felt like comfort heaven on my feet.
I will definitely be returning to this shop whenever I need a new pair of shoes. Thanks for a great experience today Mr. Drake. God bless.

We were looking for oversized/comfy shoes for my parents who had both had falls and broken bones, resulting in swollen feet/ankles - and we found that RISE were our nearest stockist of makes such as Cosyfeet. It would have been a struggle to get my parents to the shop, so Carl was really helpful in advising us what designs might work best for them, and we felt the pricing was reasonable for the items we bought too.

EDIT - 6 years ago we purchased a bespoke bed from Carl at Rise Furniture and Mobility (see below).
Today, the profiling element on one side of the bed got stuck in the upright position - no doubt as a result of wear and tear as this feature has been well used over the years. I telephoned Carl this afternoon to ask his advice as to how we might be able to make a temporary fix and to point us in the right direction to get a replacement part if necessary.

He offered to come out and have a look this evening after he had finished making his deliveries. Between them, he and my son managed to resolve the problem at no cost to us.

Mobility shops come and go - we have seen many since my husband became disabled over 30 years ago but exemplary service is the reason that Rise Furniture and Mobility is still going strong. Thank you again Carl, we can't recommend you highly enough.

I called into the showroom in Harrogate in May with a very specific list of needs which had to be met in a new bed for myself and my disabled husband in order to satisfy a range of health and safety issues raised by a local care agency. Our requirements were anything but straightforward and included a rise and fall action amongst other things but I was sure of one thing- we didn't want a hospital bed or anything that resembled one!
From that first visit we have experienced exemplary service from Carl. The bed we purchased was truly bespoke. There was no hard sell or trying to upsell additional features - in fact, he was more than happy to deduct features that would not be of benefit to my husband.
Carl spent time to ensure that the bed would meet our exact needs and came to our home for a site visit to make sure that the bed would fit - all before a sale was confirmed.
The bed was made and delivered within three weeks of ordering and although there were a few discrepancies between what was ordered and what was delivered (NOT the fault of Carl or Rise Furniture and Mobility) Carl jumped on these before we did and liaised with the manufacturers to ensure that the issues were resolved to our satisfaction.
We cannot recommend Carl and Rise Furniture and Mobility highly enough. From start to finish he created solutions for our problems in a most professional manner to ensure that the finished product worked for us, worked for the care agency and best of all, looks nothing like a hospital bed!

I have had my lovely chair for one week and its glorious! Carl was very professional and knowledgeable and the chair was delivered sooner than expected. Using a local company has paid dividends, much better service and quality than the"big" companies. I highly recommend Rise and my next purchase, a bed, will be with them.

Excellent service when purchasing an adaptable bed for my 91 year old mother. The bed arrived within the timescales promised and was set up with minimum fuss and a clear explanation of how to operate it.

We are delighted with the quality of the product and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend visiting the showroom as there is a huge variety of products to choose from. I agree with other reviews that Carl is extremely helpful without being pushy. I’m certain I will be visiting again in the future.

Carl at Rise Mobility was great in helping my rather reluctant mother choose a riser chair. The adjustments available allowed her to get very comfortable. Carl also took the time to go around with fabric samples to ensure Mum got just what she wanted and the result is a rather stylish riser chair that fits in her lounge beautifully. Thanks for all your help and great service. He also does a great line in extended toilet seats with arms - worth there weight in a lack of groans!
