I love this surgery. It can be understandablely busy as the area grows and availability of new GPs is none existent. I've found all staff lovely, caring and polite and the online service is amazing. I love the ability to submit and online form of my issues and I get a quick response, this means no long holding times on the phone. Please keep up the great service

Appointment booking system is atrocious and the receptionist staff are entirely unhelpful. Literally been ringing since 8 on the dot, get put 50th in the que. I finally get through but can't get an appointment because apparently it's a half day? On a random Tuesday? Utterly useless establishment.

Felt I needed to write a review after seeing such poor feedback as my perspective differs greatly. I’ve been a member of this surgery for over 5 years. I don’t have any significant health problems but have needed to see/speak to a doctor on several occasions.
The only negative (and the reason it’s not 5 star) is the need to call at 8am for an appointment. You do have to be prepared to be on hold for some time.
If there are no appointments I’ve been added to a triage list and a doctor calls me back within a few hours.
If appointments still available I’ve been offered a choice of phone or in person (obv during the pandemic this was only phone and it was sufficient for my needs.) I find the availability of telephone appointments helpful in some instances and I then don’t need to take time away from work to attend the
surgery. New self check in at the surgery means the reception staff can focus elsewhere and you’re not delayed standing in a queue. Repeat prescription ordering can be done using the phone service or via NHS app.
Every GP I’ve dealt with has been marvellous and all staff I’ve interacted with have been pleasant and helpful.

I would like to take this opportunity and praise the reception staff at the railway medical practice in Blyth for always being pleasant and very professional on the telephone.
On all occasions over the many years I have needed medical services from them their mannerism on the phone and willingness to help have been exemplary.
Given the pressure these staff must be under from the general public these days achieving the above is no mean feat.
I had the need to request an appointment with a doctor ASAP, (possibly today) and I must say the receptionist was brilliant getting me sorted with a doctor's appointment within hours from the initial phone call to the practice.
This professionalism was continued throughout the consultation with doctor

I have had nothing but good service the 2 times I have been. I saw a nurse from jmaps who was amazing, and I had a phone consultation with Dr. Peter McEvedy, honestly, he was hands down one of the best doctors I've spoken to such a gent and a great down to earth no nonsense doctor. My partner said the same when she visited his prescription has helped me from being crippled to actually being more mobile can't thank you all at the med centre enough

Whilst obtaining an appointment is extremely difficult, recent experience with both GP's and reception staff has been outstanding. Responsive, caring, calm and friendly.
