Visited today with an extremely painful and suspected broken foot. Such warm welcoming staff and super efficient. The receptionist was lovely and the nurse who looked after me was so warm and kind. The porter chatted to me as I was zipped between x-ray and cubicles. I can't speak highly enough of everyone. Turns out I have a break in four places with a bit of a road ahead... Thanks everyone for making a very painful situation much easier to deal with.

Really disappointed to have to write this review as in all honesty I have always found Queen Victoria hospital to be very efficient, helpful, no waiting around and better than most hospitals I’ve needed to visit to date. However, I went for a CT scan Thursday 12/09/24 at 3pm ( my appointment time ) and the nurse who inserted the cannula into my arm made a medical error by completely missing my vein and the needle then going under my skin rather than my vein. She was over talking and therefore clearly not concentrating on her job - I’m all for pleasentrys, but she wasn’t particularly doing that either really, again wasn’t concentrating on what she was doing. As soon as the cannula went into my arm I let her know it felt uncomfortable and didn’t seem totally right to me, I asked her specifically twice if that was fitted into my vein correctly and she stated with certainty yes it was. Once the dye fluid was injected into my arm, my arm blew up in size and was painful, by this time I was under the scanner. The most unfortunate thing about this is that the Nurse that did this medical error on me didn’t even apologies to me at all and therefore took zero accountability for the error she made, she nervously laughed it off a little and acting in a manner that she hadn’t really done much wrong. I was shocked at the genuine lack of responsibility over her job at that time. Another nurse took over and inserted the cannula correctly in my other arm. I went home with a swollen arm and later a headache due to the swelling and the next day my arm was still hurting, in fact today it’s still not totally healed yet. I wasn’t going to write this review due to my over all past good experience with the Queen Victoria hospital, but in order for something like this to not happen again, I felt it important do so.

Incredible service by all concerned on Peanut Ward.

We were admitted at short notice for a nasty scooter injury my son had sustained. From handover from Maidstone hospital to discharge, the whole process was not only smooth, but the level of care and compassion was palpable.

In particular I must say thank you to Hannah, a student nurse who had the most incredible bedside manner; Liz, who had the perfect balance of experience, knowledge and care and Sophie in the x-ray department.

A thank you to PAU for a great patch up job too (I’m sorry, I didn’t catch your name), and the gentle surgeon who patiently persisted with my son who was so very afraid of removing his bandages, but your persistence saved a whole operation.

We thank you all from the bottom of our hearts. You do an incredible job!

I have attended this hospital 3 times recently once for a day surgery op and 2 follow ups. The operation ran smoothly and I was kept informed at all times. The 2 follow ups have been punctual and all staff have been knowledgeable efficient and polite.
Thankyou.

I just wanted to say thank you so much to the Minor injuries unit and also the xray dept for being so helpful with an injury on Wednesday afternoon. I was very lucky that the department was fairly quiet but my nurse was delightful and I'm so grateful we have a great hospital and minor injuries unit.

My husband had to have two skin cancers removed from his nose which involved a skin graft.
All the staff who treated him including the amazing Mr King, the surgeon and his associate Fiona ( sorry he doesn't remember her surname) and all the nurses who redressed the wounds afterwards, were so lovely!
Husband says the two surgeons were having a comical race over who could finish their excision and graft first, which really amused him. The nurses doing the dressings the next week had to pause because he made them giggle so much. All in all it was a lovely way to experience a worrying thing.
Queen Victoria Hospital is a lovely place filled with happy staff and we were glad we got sent there.

This hospital is a Saint of mine...
They rebuilt my face following a fatal accident I was brought back from.
Staff were the best I've EVER experienced and the specialist care was second to none.
