While I'm typically not inclined to leave negative reviews, I feel that following my emergency dental appointment with Pure Dentistry, this is justified. I booked the appointment due to tooth sensitivity following a root canal and crown fitting abroad. The doctor took an X-ray and conveyed with absolute certainty that the root canal had not been performed well and was overly assumptive regarding dental standards in the country where I had the procedure, as well as my choice of dental practices. I found their approach quite condescending throughout the consultation.

This left me utterly devastated for no reason, as following private consultations with two different endodontists, I was told that not only was there no indication of any problems with my root canal based on the X-ray, but further scan also showed that it was "beautifully done". The only positive from the experience was the referral to the wonderful specialist, who provided a truly person-centred approach and offered reassurance.

Went to pure dentistry in harpenden yesterday and can't praise this dentist and staff enough , I had all my teeth extracted and honestly didn't feel a thing absolutely amazing.
From the lovely Helen on reception a very professional and just all round lovely person to the dentists and assistant's upstairs who are outstanding at there jobs also lovely people.
I cannot say enough to explain how good this practice is , a absolute pleasure and breath of fresh air , 5 star service very reasonably priced ,just doesn't get any better .
Well done guys keep up the 5 star work well done and thankyou to you all

Sam was wonderful - my daughter had Active Aligners and now has the smile she hoped for. The process was really easy and Sam made my daughter feel very comfortable throughout. Highly recommended.

I had always been a nervous patient and required a lot of work about 10 years ago. I can honestly say, my nerves were put to rest as soon as I entered the building due to the warm welcome and the amazing, gentle and understanding dentist that is Dan shaffer. Really... Nice guy! Last week I went for a routine xray and, as before, still smiley, happy, welcoming and informative!

I highly recommend, easily one of the best.

What a fantastic practice, filled with excellent practitioners! All of the staff at Pure Dentistry have a brilliant manner that would put even the most nervous patient at ease. The practice is modern in it's treatment plans, and in the technology that they have available. Dr Shaffer has taken me on a journey to achieve my perfect smile with colour correction and cosmetic repair whilst working in tandem with Jo Palmer on my gum health. Having achieved part one, I'm now half way through a 12 step Active Aligner plan to straighten my smile. Mine was not a straightforward case as I have very overcrowded lower teeth, but the Active Aligner team have managed to create a bespoke plan for me, and it has been quick, painless, and really rewarding seeing quick results! Brilliant! Additionally, for being an adult patient, the Pure Dentistry team offer free checkups to my children, so Dr Kaly gave my three children (10, 8 and 2) a full checkup and had a brilliant manner with them. Cannot recommend them all more highly! from the moment you step in, all the way through. Excellent.
