Recently I had an inpatient stay for a month at the Priory Roehampton. Following that I joined an outpatient programme and I would recommend the therapy team really highly.

From the moment I met the warm reception team and the nursing staff on the ward I felt that I had found a haven. My superb Psychiatrist makes me feel heard and reassured and instinctively approached speaking to me in a calm common sense way that I can understand and he continues to help me navigate my mental health crisis & recovery alongside My 1:1 therapist Susie Garcia who is an incredibly experienced and creative practitioner. Her positive support navigating the far from linear process of suffering from a depression & anxiety disorder has me feeling truly blessed.

Just completed a two week stay at The Priory Hospital. While the accommodation is adequate anyone coming here should really be more focused on the Therapy side and how the Hospital can help them mentally get to where they want to be. I personally have found the group therapy sessions incredibly helpful. But you have to want these to work to get the most out of them, it is down to the individual to not only attend but engage, listen and learn. After two weeks of attending all the sessions I considered relevant I know I’m not 100% better but I have now the knowledge, motivation and a tool box to ensure I get to where I want to be. On coming here I had totally lost touch with what my beliefs and values were, the type of person I want to be and what makes me happy. These sessions have helped me re-establish the beliefs and values and given me a plan for the future which looks good. In addition to the group sessions I have had 1:1’s with my allotted therapist and 1:1’s with psychiatrist again these have been very helpful especially identifying specific issues and how to address them. On the ward the nursing staff are great. Very friendly and relaxed while remaining professional. It can be a stressful time in this type of hospital but the ward staff make you feel at home and are always there to listen. So like most things if you put the effort in and engage you get the most out.

The people on Reception are brilliant - efficient, personable and helpful.

My consultant Dr Campbell is excellent in all respects.

One issue that really surprised me today is the dreadful disintegrating state of the private road at the main entrance and potholes further along. This creates a very poor initial impression.

I was at crisis stage for BPD in March/April 23, I was in a bad place, Dr Masi enabled me to stay as an inpatient. The staff were fab, the accommodation was good, everything very organised but also the therapy recieved there was outstanding and I took away alot. I am on the road to recovery thanks to Dr Masi and his team.

One thing Dr Masi did though was to take me off the dreadful antipsychotics and it changed my life for the better. I am now in the best shape of my life. I am still receiving therapy but its more on how to handle BPD in the workplace rather than anything else.

Thanks Priory.

Jackie & Thelma, both extremely welcoming and accommodating on arrival at reception. A team there! I attend the internal and open evening meetings for CA & AA - always happy to help me with additional water and treats for the residents and external visitors to the evening fellowship meetings. Non judgmental and helps put newcomers and old timers like me at ease each night I attend and do service at a number of meetings weekly. Thank you for your kindness and the delicious cup cakes you hand make for us! Wouldn’t be the same without you both 🙏

Ana Cabaco is an upper court psychologist at the priory and has given group therapy sessions on CBT Insomnia and Acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) that I have attended . I found her very engaging and sympathetic especially in the insomnia class where she was very helpful, insightful with my own issues around insomnia - her presentations were clear and precise and she is clearly an expert in her field
