The maternity care at this hospital is second to none, absolutely amazing, every staff member I encountered from triage, to receptionists to midwife’s to surgeons to aftercare nurses, to the facilities staff are so friendly and welcoming, nothing is too much trouble, I have had both my children at this hospital via c section and I cannot recommend it enough the care you will receive is outstanding.

A special thank you to Shauna the Midwife who was absolutely amazing and made my 2nd C section which I was dreading, such a positive experience.

Fantastic hospital!

Great work by the PRH physio team. I had four appointments and the pain I had before I went is now fully under control. I was shown how to do each exercise and that training was repeated at each appointment and I'm now self-sufficient in controlling my pain.

4 hours in A&E for my 12 year old son who got cat scratched in the eye! We have seen 1 doctor and waiting to be seen by another! The whole waiting room is basically empty. Will walk out very soon. Hospital is a joke!

I recently gave birth to my beautiful baby boy via planned cesarean at Princess Royal Hospital in Haywards Heath, and I wanted to share my experience. My baby was in a breech position, and after careful consideration, we were advised that a c-section would be the safest option. While I had always dreamed of a natural birth, which made this decision a bit daunting, the care and professionalism we received from the labor ward team were exceptional and helped ease our worries.

There were some initial hiccups, including mix-ups with appointments and some confusion about whether we were there for another ECV, but once everything was clarified, the team went above and beyond. I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to trainee midwife Lanette, who looked after us during our ECV the week before. Even though we faced a long 3+ hour delay due to an emergency, Lanette remained so kind, professional, and attentive throughout. She made what could have been a stressful experience so much easier for us.

On the day of the procedure, I cannot praise the anesthetists, Olli, Matt, and Paul enough. They respected every detail of our birthing plan, explained every step of the procedure, and checked on us constantly to ensure we were comfortable and reassured. They truly went above and beyond, even playing our music during the procedure and taking professional-quality photos of us and our baby—moments we will cherish forever. I have never felt so well cared for in a hospital, and they turned what was initially an unexpected and nerve-wracking experience into something incredibly positive and beautiful.

My mixed feelings come from the postnatal care experience. While so many of the nurses and midwives were absolutely amazing, the policy allowing visitors into the shared room all day was very challenging for us. It made it impossible to get proper rest, and it felt uncomfortable having so many strangers around while trying to recover and bond with our newborn. As we had chosen not to have even our own parents visit to minimize exposure, being forced to sit in a room with up to 10 people at times was difficult and felt at odds with our wishes for those first few precious days. Thankfully, we were discharged after two days, but this is something I would suggest the hospital reconsiders for future patients.

Overall, I am deeply grateful to the labor ward team at PRH for the incredible care and support they provided during my son’s birth. It was a truly special experience despite my initial fears, and I will always remember how kind and compassionate everyone was. If you’re planning to give birth at PRH, you’ll be in excellent hands—just keep the postnatal policy in mind as something to prepare for.

Don't even won't to give one star. Been here 7 hours only seen 1st person. No painkillers or nothing. Now just been told I can be waiting up to another 6 hours to see a doctor then they have to sort out blood test ect. People are waking out.
I have to say this is the worst hospital I've ever been to and I spend a lot of time in them. I wouldn't be surprised with the way they are running. it will soon close down.

My partner has just come home today after 6 days in this hospital. She stayed in the Horsted Keynes ward.
I have never known such a great bunch of staff as they are in here!
Honestly a wonderful team, especially Siritra, Ruby, and Anne. They treated my Mrs and cared for in such a lovely way and were great with me too.
The anithetist was a German chap who's name I've forgotten, again he was calm, funny, personable, just great.

If anyone has the need to visit this area of the hospital, fear not, you will be in fantastic hands.
