Astbury Mere Care Home was very good to my late mother, but getting overspend repaid back from head office to her estate is like getting blood out of a stone. My mother passed at the start of April, two months later, still no sign of the refund.

Just avoid if you care for your relatives and want to have contact and know that the care home is working in the best interests of residents. They continuously lied and kept us away from my grandma in the last few months of life. They even said she was improving so wouldn’t let too many people visit to say goodbye, she died the next day. This is an experience of many people, very poor management and policies. More bothered about themselves getting into trouble than allowing people the chance to say goodbye.
