My daughter was referred to the women and child unit after breaking her arm and needing further treatment. We arrived early for our appointment at the Amazon ward. The staff at reception were approachable and friendly. We were seen to our bed and introduced to our nurse Ashleigh.
I could write a huge review about every detail of care but it would go on for pages and pages. The whole team were absolutely amazing! Receptionists, play team, nursing team, phone calls before the appointment, surgical team, anaesthetists… it was just all outstanding care for my daughter but also for me as a mother. Putting a child to sleep is a routine thing for these people to do but I never felt I was overreacting or asking the wrong questions, this is due to the staff. The hospital is clean, tidy and the Amazon ward has some amazing facilities for children to feel relaxed - I actually wondered if I was in a private hospital!
After the surgery the excellent treatment continued and we were soon discharged home.
ALL THE STAFF were the best but I do have to mention our nurse Ashleigh in particular, she doesn’t seem to stop moving! Patients were in and out of our section of the ward, the beds were cleaned by Ashleigh very soon after the patients leaving. She had such a lovely way with my daughter, which is all you want.
Thank you to all who helped treat my daughter on this day and reassured a very anxious mummy!

Stayed in family room for 6 hours patient was moved to a ward at 6 pm but I was not informed until I ask for an update. The toilets were overflowing with used hand paper towels, there was no water and only a few ginger biscuits to eat. Unable to go out to find coffee etc incase we were called. Come on Peterborough you can do better than this. I know you are busy but it only takes a minute to help people waiting in the family room.

Absolutely disgusting the way they treat elderly people . My mother 85 had a hip replacement..no proper care . absolutely no communication with family. Can't get any information from anyone.all they want to do is free up beds no thought for the patient.most of the nurses couldn't give a hoot.

I have had many good experiences in the hospital and I believe that we must always remember that they are human beings working within those four walls, they are people who stop living their lives to save ours, they work 12-hour shifts and sometimes extra shifts are had that they covered some colleagues.
They are dedicated health professionals but sometimes reach a state of psychological and physical exhaustion. How can a team of 130 professionals care for 540 patients? It's a small estimate I made.
And they carry this burden every day and in a way they don't get the due merit

Went for my 20 week scan today. Receptionist was very rude did not like her attitude whatsoever, if it was her daughter she would’ve asked the same question I did for my mum. Not sure where the sense of family has gone there are two chairs in the ultrasound room so why can I not have my partner and my mother in the room with me. I had been informed from the start “allowed up to 2 people of importance” The receptionist came after my mum as if she was a naughty child. I got upset in the room because I really wanted my mother with me and the man doing the ultrasound threatened me that he’d rebook the appointment because I was getting emotional (as all pregnant women do). Very rude staff this is meant to be a happy time for families bringing a little one into the world. But instead we got treated like dogs no sense of warmth or kindness within the prenatal ward… extremely disappointed

When i visited the A& E Department on Saturday i was very Impressed with the Personal Patience Care and the Attention to detail. I was really looked after. I was given Tests before i was booked in. Everything was Explained to me very well. I was told to go and wait in the waiting room, my name qould be called soon. I did have to wait that long. My name was called and went and followed the Medical Professional towards the Departments in the Hospital i was having my Tests. In General, i thought it was a really Good day. The Care, Thougtfulness and Over all Clientle Service was just absolutely the Best. I was even bought a Chicken & Mayo Sandwich with Delicious Coffee by my Doctor, that i had been with. Peterborough General Hospital is an Excellent Medical Facility to go to or be Admitted to. Jonathan.😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️💯💯💯💯💯👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Been there with my Autistic daughter last week and would like to say thank you to everyone at Peterborough hospital. From the Reception team to the Nurses and Doctor that helped us everyone had a very good understanding and knowledge on how to deal with a Special needs person. Thank you very much for looking after my daughter!

The Care Qaulity Commission should inspect B11 Acute stroke ward, and how the discharge planning pathway for vulnerable stroke patients with complex needs and how it is poorly managed. The lack of joint working with hospital teams and Health And Social Care Service's. Poor coordination and communication. Complex stroke patients are seen as objects and an inconvenience to some nurses and hospital staff, raised numerous concerns.
These failures have severely undermined our family's trust and confidence. Badly let down by this stroke ward B11, whilst my family are trying to navigate this complex NHS system, while worrying daily about our family member who's had a very severe stroke.
Dignity and respect was certainly not practised on this ward by certain members of staff
