I came with painful breast cysts, I was told that they will do a mammogram and an ultrasound scan. I’ve never had a mammogram before, I was scared and in pain, so I’ve politely asked if I could please have only an ultrasound scan. They bluntly replied that they don’t do ultrasound without a mammogram. (How funny, I had a breast ultrasound many times in the past!) Then I’ve asked if there is any alternative to mammogram. The answer was very annoyed NO, followed by staff becoming nasty, intimidating, treating me disrespectfully. I've been hearing sarcastic and nasty remarks about my choice all along. To "punish" me, they only did an ultrasound scan on a small section of one breast, where the biggest lumps were, instead of scanning a full breast. They rudely refused to scan the rest of my breast and scan the other breast, despite me asking, despite diagnosis painful lumps in both breasts. I left the clinic shaken, stressed out, humiliated, intimidated and scared. My lumps were left unscanned. I’ve got to get another referral from my GP and go through this experience again, just to get looked at the other breast and the unscanned part of the breast. What a waste of everyone’s time and money!
