We were visiting Southwold for the day and we popped into Observatory the Opticians to see if they were able to help. My friend had recently had Cataract surgery and whilst waiting for the other eye to be done she was unable to see very well or use her glasses. So I went into the Opticians to see if they were able to take one of the lenses out of her glasses on the corrected eye.
The lady in the shop was on the phone on arrival so we browsed the shop and waited briefly. Beautifully displayed shop with trendy fashionable, lovely coloured frames to choose from.
We explained to Jacqui what we required and within seconds she had popped the lense out for us.
Jacqui was very kind, helpful and couldn’t do enough for us which we really appreciated as my friend was recently bereaved too. We would definitely recommend this delightful opticians to anyone.

Popped in whilst on a little staycation, so not my usual but I now wish it was! Michelle who served me was extremely helpful, knowledgeable and generous with her advice and even tightened my glasses for me. Fantastic customer service. Will be visiting again for a new pair soon I hope!

Such lovely service. My son lost one of his glasses pads and they were digging into his nose. We popped in and the lovely lady put on new pads without hesitation. What a pleasant optician and person. Thank you 🙏

Popped in today as i was having issues with my glasses (purchased elsewhere).

I would highly recommend The Observatory to anyone - young or old. Rene is fantastically professional and friendly, putting children at ease, and we (as a family) feel really looked after.
The staff are incredibly helpful with choosing frames and understanding different lens choices. They are patient and caring and give you as much time as you need.
Everybody is so smiley and positive that you can’t help but leave The Observatory with a smile on your face.

Today,without an appointment, the Observatory optician in Southwold were very happy to repair my damaged glasses without charge. The damage to the delicate frames required skill and care to avoid breakage. Thankyou for your excellent service.

Had a real issue with my glasses and the bridge pads. Popped in and was sorted within 30secs - they had blistered! The fab team resolved and I had my glasses back within 2mins. No pain and sitting correctly

Back in July, during a long weekend to Suffolk, my partner broke his favourite shades and we came in hoping to get them fixed. We were, of course, expecting to pay but the lovely lady (whose name has escaped me) did it free of charge. Not only did the kind lady reattach the broken arm, but was kind enough to have tightened the other one, too; she was so warm and friendly as we were waiting, as well, she even complimented my outfit. I was here only for about 5 minutes, and it wasn’t even my glasses being serviced, but had such a memorable experience that I’ve remembered to write this review three months later. I genuinely wish that I lived in the area so that this could be my regular optician, it would be no contest. Thank you ever so much for helping us in our time of need and for providing unforgettable service. I love to support local businesses and this kindness is a prime example of why, keep it up, Southwold are lucky to have you.
