After submitting 5 online forms to see a doctor over 2 weeks and being told by reception staff to do another form each time, I ring even when the doctors say they will ring back .
I am now trying to do my sixth form, which is not available at the moment.
It makes me laugh that it says to be kind and respectfully to reception staff. I think they need some training on how to be compassionate, I can imagine they get a lot off crap over the phone. But they should remember the people phoning up my have a lot on their plate, so don't just fob them of as been a nuisance for phone

I’ve found it nearly impossible to secure an appointment, as the system only allows for bookings during a one-hour window on Wednesdays. I believe this is done so they are meeting waiting list targets despite not actually providing access.

Additionally, I’ve experienced a lack of courtesy from the reception staff when trying to reach them, regardless of the urgency of my situation. Their responses often come across as patronizing.

On a positive note, the doctors and nurses are always kind and attentive when I do manage to connect with them, but that’s unfortunately a rare occurrence. I worry that this access issue could lead to serious oversights in patient care down the line.

Put in request this morning (Tuesday) to see a Dr. Made clear I could not attend on Wednesday. What day was I allocated an appointment - wednesday!. Now the week is fully booked and I have to wait until next Monday to put in another request to see a Dr. Hope I survive until then. What a shambles.

Afraid to say this is likely the worst GP practice I have ever had to use. From their archaic, backwards "booking" system to the absolute lack of availability, and sadly extending to the quality of care, compassion, and understanding from the GP if you do manage to get to speak to one, each aspect is hugely below an acceptable level of service.

I of course know a lot of this is outside of their control (NHS budgets, over subscription to the surgery due to it being the only one, and so on), but that does not change the reality of the terrible quality of service.

I sincerely hope things can be improved.

23/7/24 pI contacted the surgery regarding a problem I was having, was straight away sent a link for a form which I filled in including a picture, 5 mins later I received a call back from the doctor and antibiotics are now being sent to pharmacy. The only problem I envisage will be the wait at the pharmacy. I am so impressed with the service and the speed of the response, Oaktree Health Centre is amazing, I have always found them to be very polite, professional and helpful, I have never had a problem with them or getting a appointment. 5 Stars just doesn't seem to do them justice x

I have been registered for 18 years with the Oak Tree Health Centre Doctors, and most of the staff is lovely and helpful. Last week, after my daughter was not well and not sleeping for at least 3 weeks, I called 111. The doctor called at 3 a.m. and mentioned my daughter needed to be seen due to an infection. I went to 8:30 and was told they do have spaces on the call list. The receptionist was extremely rude, refused to put her on the call list, and told me to call 111 back, which I did. I got a call at 10, and my daughter was seen by a GP by 10:50. I had antibiotics and cream for her infection. It was her first night of sleep after three weeks. My 7-year-old daughter was under investigation with the rheumatologist and dietician and has been seeing the paediatrician for the last few years. I have been to the emergency room a few times due to fatigue after having shingles and recurring UTI symptoms; one ambulance trip was for a similar reason as a result of her sugar drops when she was ill.
People come because they need help. It’s disappointing to meet some people who are unhelpful and rude in this place. The help should be given with kindness, not rudeness. It's not the first time.

I know the whole health system requires improvement, but this doesn't mean you shouldn't provide a correct response for urgent matters and be humble. There is a lack of communication, vague explanations, etc.
I wish no one would get ill and feel the need to contact them ever.
