Well what can I say except what a beautiful place Oak Cottage is, The home the grounds the owners the residents the staff and of course management Michelle, Natalie Rebecca and Ribena, My dad was welcomed there on the 11th of April 2024 the care home the residents and the staff were amazing with my dad living there made such a big difference to his life, he loved it, he starting eating, walking, smiling laughing and even interacted with the residents, sadly my dad passed away at the care home on the 13th July 2024, I cannot thank you all enough for having my dad and changing his life for the short space of time he was there, thank you kindly, I will still visit as I loved going there to see my dad, I would highly recommend short or long stay at Oak Cottage, thank you to you all lots of love from all the family especially me (Sue) ❤️❤️💙💙

My father (Michael Day ) had a two week rest bite stay at Oak Cottage after a recent cataract operation. He required vital eye drops every 2 and 4 hours. When first told by social services this would be the best option of care during this time period myself and family where apprehensive and slightly concerned due to bad experience with my mother at other care homes in past!
Our concerns and worries were quickly laid to rest, as the standard of care and attention at this care home is second to none. Through out his stay the standard of care was fantastic from Natalie (manager) to every other member of staff (kirstin, carol and everybody else who works there)
Would highly recommend this care home for short or long time stays.
Once again many thank oak cottage.

Very sorry to hear you were disappointed with this. We do have a hoist on the premises but prefer to have cooperation from the Service User as we must adhere to moving and handling regulations. We are sorry you were disappointed that your father decided to stay in bed for a rest. We offered to assist him in the morning as per the family request, however, if the Service User is choosing to sleep for longer, that is their choice. If you would like to address this further, please feel free to contact the office.

Incompetent staff no hoist hard chairs my dad ( John Skevington )was still in bed when we arrived 11:30 am
to check on him and had to take him straight home
they could not put him to bed because he was stubborn until 130 am ! I'm sad and very very disappointed to be honest .
