I got in contact with Sally in February after reading her bio on the BACP register and resonating with everything that she was saying! After an initial phone consultation, I arranged to meet her at her office in Nunthorpe and immediately felt at ease. I was really struggling with my anxiety and low mood so found that I was feeling overwhelmed completing simple every day tasks and felt as though I was going through the motions. My self esteem was low and I had realised that I had been putting other people above myself for a long time. I have had counselling through different NHS organisations for over 10 years, but had never managed to identify or tackle the root cause. I have my own business and didn't want my lack of confidence to hold me back. I found Sally to be extremely approachable and accommodating if I needed to rearrange or cancel appointments due to work commitments and together we recognised a lot of patterns and learned behaviours that I had carried from childhood and previous relationships. I am now ending the year feeling optimistic and so much more in control. I am so much more assertive and am beginning to put healthy boundaries in place, as well as having a social life and feeling on top of work again!
