I had ankle surgery here on 18th December 2024. All of the staff were incredibly friendly and so helpful. They all do an amazing job. The hospital is incredibly clean and very roomy. I was on a ward with four beds that was three times the size of my local hospital! I felt cared for, considered and welcome. The surgeons came to see me the next morning and gave me a complete run down of everything that had happened. Everything was fast, communication between teams, physio saw me the morning after my op and were very thorough. The plaster room team were fabulous. The food was amazing!! I cannot speak highly enough of my experience here from start to finish 🙂

A two night stay in Ward 6 for an ankle fusion was a real pleasure. The food is excellent with a huge choice. The ward was filled with laughter from the staff who obviously enjoyed their work. The ward was very quiet at night. The whole hospital is spotlessly clean. This was a very positive experience all round, apart from the pesky operation! But that seems to have been a success.
Thank you Prof Townsend and his team.

I would like to thank Dr Derek Kramer and his surgical team including all the nurses and porters on Ward 6 who made my total hip replacement and stay at hospital on Friday 27th December a smooth and faultless experience. Thanks to all concerned in the process on the day and the one night stayover, keep up the great work, Tony

Ridiculous being sent by 111 and being made to sit an hour and a half to be told there’s not drs to see a poorly child and the sign that should have been at the front desk had been turned around. Not one reception staff mentioned there wasn’t any drs and the rude nurse on triage clearly wasn’t any good with a child with additional needs too. Another 4 hours in a&e in cramlington but at least the staff there are far better.

Terrible for staff to use emergency drop off. I was there for over 2 hours and this car along with the 2 behind didn't move from the drop off zone. I was forced to double park to get a child with a broken foot in!
However the staff I did see were lovely and efficient.

My mum attended the Gynae Outpatients clinic on Sunday 15th September. Would love to praise Angela ( sorry if that’s not the correct name) and all the staff at the hospital and the court cafe for the outstanding and friendly service given by all! Top marks!
