I had to wait in a&e for 4 hours last night got there at around half one in the morning, finally discharged at gone 5 after being advised to go by 111. They were clearly waiting to see people up until the four hour mark so that they can keep the wait time ensured at less than five hours, if they didn’t have this policy they never would’ve seen me. The doctor that did eventually consult me was the most horrible man I have ever met he was so rude to me and my father his attitude was awful and he is clearly horrible at his job. The nurse who removed my cannula was extremely unprofessional, she did it in the waiting room and put the cannula down onto one of the seats, covered in my blood, after she removed it. Worst experience of my life I would rather die in my nice warm bed than come to this hospital ever again. These people are clearly not trained.

I went to A&E yesterday at night and I’m happy with the care I received, I got pain relief and further tests. My special thanks go to Izabela who took my blood and was very friendly and approachable.

We had to take our grandson to the Koala Unit after a tiring day having been in a previous childrens a and e for 3 and a half hours and then being transferred there. We then had more hours waiting to be seen in an overcrowded inappropriate untidy badly ventilated waiting room with not enough chairs to sit on. A kind member of staff took me to make a drink A member of staff eventually came to do my grandsons observations in full view of everyone in the room (as had been done for all patients in the room) asking personal questions. Following basic observations my daughter in law said she felt it inappropriate to carry on discussing any further. We had taken records to the ward from the previous hospital therefore all the informationhad been given in. Eventually my grandson was seen and the nurse and paediatrician were excellent however no beds were available and we had to to home with a view to returning if needed via the GP.
The experirence was very unpleasant however i appreciate the enormous workload the staff have.

I had a very disappointing experience at this hospital. After being in pain for hours and waiting for 5.5 hours with no assistance, I eventually had to order a taxi to leave. I was exhausted from the pain and lack of sleep, and it was frustrating to see nurses chatting and laughing but not prioritising patient care. It felt unprofessional and disrespectful to those waiting in distress. It’s difficult to understand how such behavior aligns with calls for pay raises when basic duties aren’t being fulfilled.

After finding out I had a throat infection, and ear infection, this caused me to be unable to swallow fluids or foods. North manchester general hospital left me to sob in agony for a 16 whole hours despite the doctors promising me to have a bed within a couple hours. I was then later disreguarded by being discharged from the hospital (even with my severe difficulties to breathe or swallow fluids) and pumped with morphine that had no effect on the pain i was experiencing. This was then when the pathetic excuse of a hospital decided it was appropriate to tell me i would have gotten a bed if i did not get discharged (despite a silly little doctor ranting to me unprofessionaly on why i should discharge myself). As a 16 year old, they took advantage of this and left me waiting for nothing, with doctors even admitting they could've mentioned to me 12 hours prior that I would not be getting a bed (again, after being promised to). My parents were clearly upset and angry and within 40 minutes of giving them the treatment they give to their sorrowful, vulnerable patients, I had finally gotten a room. This hospital was probably the worst experience of any health care service I have ever had, and I advise you to take your loved ones elsewhere as you will not be getting the treatment you deserve. Their communication levels are sickeningly low and they carry this condescending manner with an egotistical personality. By all means, this horrid hospital will not help you, and you are probably able to recieve more support from a brick wall. Stay FAR away.

The most terrible hospital. My mother came in an ambulance and was left unattended and unchecked with no bed, pillow or easy chair. She had shortness of breath as well. My mum ended up fainting. Even after that, no one attended to her. The hospital didn’t even seem busy. On top of that, the doctor wouldn’t let me explain what was wrong with my mother and instead wanted my mum to tell him who could barely talk through the pain. He ended up not understanding what she was saying about her illness or medication. At the end, after all the tests, she asked her doctor what was wrong with her. The doctor said he didn’t know even though he had all her test results opened. Didn’t reassure her or anything. It seemed like he didn’t want to give her any time out of his day or speak to her much. Awful hospital overall.

If your appointment is for breast cancer care.. Once you've arrived at North Manchester General at the main entrance follow the road on your left(2min walk) up to F unit. Confirm your arrival and take a seat. I'd advise you to bring your snacks and a drink waiting times can be 4 hrs plus. The staff are great ? ? ? if u travel by bus the 56 directly stops outside the hospital. I got taxi from Middleton it cost £13. Best to buy a day ticket. Good luck in all you do.
