Isn't it awful that, before I even phone at 7:59 am, I know I'm going to be asked if I can travel somewhere else? I've also been told that they don't deal with chest infections at North House Surgery as well. My husband, who had surgery and stitches last week, phoned to ask if he could have his wound redressed and was asked to go to Bishop Auckland!? Driving with stitches!? But it's amazing how they miraculously "find" appointments when you go through the chemist route! And when you attend for your appointment, there's one other person in the waiting room!? I'm going to call in and ask for the list of ailments that qualify for an appointment here...sad, because when you do eventually get past the reception barrier, the doctors and nurses there are very helpful.... just shouldn't be this difficult, should it?

Well after previously writing a good review of the surgery and of Doctor Tang i feel i need to make corrections.
After suffering an incident in july 23 ive been left unable to work, sit, stand or walk. Ive had mri’s and xrays showing both l5/s1 disc bulge and osteoarthritis of the hips, oh then a month later apparently im clear of the latter. Ive begged for help to get me back contributing in society but to no avail. They offer me drugs i cant take, ive begged for injections in si joint but refuse and at best have been offered physio at the surgery, ive done physio the whole time. They have not offered me MSK physio, they haven’t even tried to get to the bottom of the source of my pain so that i can at least help myself to the correct exercises.
The most alarming thing and was not going to go public with this but after a lot of reflection have decided to pursue through nhs complaints was, in february, dr harding thought he was doing the right thing taking me off a drug (gabapentin) which i had been on for 12 years and took me off it in 1 week!!! Causing me a whole load of mental trauma, night sweats, suicidal tendencies and probably a lot more pain from the mental anguish!! At best this was reckless behaviour by a dr!
Im left with no faith in the surgery and after being compared to a knackered car that you wouldn’t chuck parts at by dr oxley this morning, my fairh in the nhs as a whole is a shambles!!!

Would of been 5* had I not had issues with the surgery in the past.
Got through within 10 minutes of phone lines opening. Judith was very courteous and professional on the phone and got me a telephone appointment with no problems for that day.
Dr Teng rang me around lunchtime, spent a decent amount of time listening to me about my condition, had no hesitation in booking me in for an MRI and an X ray which is in 3 days time.
I never felt rushed and the doctor was very informative when asked many questions. Dr Teng is 5* plus in my opinion.

There a joke. There are never any appointments available for working people like myself, so im unable to queue from 7am. like a lot of people do. They normally just pawn you off to 101.

Can’t fault the staff at all. Obviously some people have had a bad experience with this surgery, but personally my family and I can’t complain about anything. Dr. Wood is Dr. Wood, excellent, always. Had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Tang today, he too, is top notch. Thanks to all at North house.

Never had anything good to say about this surgery since moving there! Never have any appointments available even when calling 8am on a morning like you’re told to do so. No communication between the reception and the doctors at all. Nothing is URGENT to them and you just get passed off on the phone. Called multiple times over 2 days and still no further forward with an urgent request! Very unreliable! If I could rate lower I would do so!

Called trying to get an appointment with a GP 3 days in a row only to be in a que 20-30 minutes plus just to be told there's non available but I can be booked into the overflow at bishop auckland. Friday used the e-consultation. Received a call that afternoon and told a GP will call by 18:30 Monday. Now 20:00 and no call. They don't seem too bothered that it is regards to an urgent referal my daughter needs that must be made by a GP.
