I tried to explain how I was feeling for the 1 billionth time to try and get some support from this service, instead of responding or giving me a call, they sent the police to my house when I was in work, yes, I should have informed them I was feeling better, and the message was the day before but that's the lengths I had to go to to get some support, otherwise I'm only offered 'online CBT'

talking matters sent the police to my house instead of calling me first when I was at work, NOW I HAVE A £500 BROKEN DOOR BILL AND I FEEL WORSE, THANKS FOR PUNISHING PEOPLE FOR REACHING OUT. YOU'D THINK YOU'D HAVE CALLED FIRST 🙂 Great mental health company, I literally feel a million times worse than when I told you how I felt, billing a pregnant lady for being depressed, good job

Not sure why the bad reviews.
From the moment I contacted talking matters, I've felt supported.
I self referred for bereavement counselling and was actually diagnosed with PTSD. From first contact to first treatment session was about 2 months, but I was contacted in that time for things like triage and assessments.
I've been having CBT for free and the difference has been amazing. I can't praise them enough.
If you are willing to have some patience and wait for your treatment (they have emergency numbers if your condition deteriorates in the interim), then I highly recommend the service.
My treatment would have cost thousands privately.

Agree with Amanda and other reviewers. This is the front line mental health support in Warrington and it's absolutely abysmal.

On first referral I waited 7 months and was offered online anxiety course. It was no help to my condition so I informed them of this. I was sent back to GP and referred again.. 5 weeks from referral and not had my initial assessment. 5 weeks left without a single call to see why I need urgent mental health support.

If this was a business they'd be closed without question. Why are our local MPs not getting involved here

Absolutely tremendous service here . Highly recommended. The therapists are the best I've ever come across and had several counsellors in my lifetime, I can't praise these at iapt enough . The two therapists I saw recognised my trauma and expertly did what they could then transferred me for more help as was obvious my needs warranted more mental health care . Once that is sorted I wish to resume their services . A**

Sadly, it's not possible to post the review without clicking on ANY of the stars, so reluctantly had to offer 1 star (which is 1 too many) in order to warn other NOT to reply on help from Talking Matters, Warrington.
In July 2021, I spent time reviewing all the different options available locally, and determined Talking Matters offered (or at least claimed to offer) the right support to that which I was seeking. I notice they offered a weekly 'drop in' session, and thought this best to 'test the water' so took time off, to attend the session. Only to learn "we haven't done those for over a year now - COVID" When offered the feedback, "You might want to update your website to that effect" was told "We don't have any control over that".
So, I learnt how to - SELF REFER. I quickly got an automated response to confirm my referral had been successful and someone would be in-touch soon.
NINE WEEKS later, I received an invitation for an 'assessment' which consisted of asking all the questions I'd already completed on the self referral form. Only to be advised they would need to speak to a supervisor!
FIVE WEEKS later, and after I chased 3 further times, I was advised they DO NOT feel they could offered the right support, I should refer to my GP!
Within days I had a GP appointment, who kindly advised she was willing to refer me to the appropriate help, and that I'd get a letter shortly.
SEVEN WEEKS later, and a letter inviting me for an assessment. I attend the assessment, and asked THE SAME QUESTIONS as the original assessment now 3 months earlier!
"I'll need to discuss with a supervisor to determine the right support to offer"
FOUR WEEKS later - I receive confirmation I've been referred to Talking Matters, Warrington 'for an assessment'.
After calming down, and being advised "Your original assessment was too long ago, you'll have to have another one" I agree to answer THE SAME QUESTIONS yet again, and advised I can attend a virtual anxiety course!
Only to log in, to be advised, THEY are having problems with their IT, and will defer the course! (Just what people with anxiety need!)
I wouldn't be quite so angry if this was for a routine check up, or my ears to be waxed! But this is SUPPOSED to be part of the FRONT-LINE Mental Health Support in Warrington. Seriously P*** up and Brewery spring to mind! It's hardly surprising to see such a high suicide rate, when THIS is the level of support offered by a MENTAL HEALTH organisation. It's WOEFULLY inadequate, to the extent its offensive to call it MH Support.
If this was a BUSINESS, it would be CLOSED DOWN, but, it's a charity with a blatant charity mentality, and no thought what so ever for the potential clients they fail by their lack of integrity.

I would give zero stars if possible. I've been waiting for 7 months for an appointment. I was promised to be seen within the next 2 weeks...2 months ago! Shocking service. I hope that when I finally do get to see someone that they are not as bad as I've been led to believe.

I would like to nominate jeana white for her care and devotion in these not so pleasant times. She goes past my house most days, all through this lock down, always smiling and always has a word for you. Lovely lovely lady.
