I have been a member of this club for 19 years and I wouldn't want to train anywhere else. My 10 year old daughter has also been a member since she was 7 and is advancing nicely through the grades. It's a lovely thing for us to do together, she is a 3rd generation of karateka in my family. My late father was also a member of the club for many years.

The club's Sensei's are fantastic. Their knowledge, passion and commitment to teaching, training and the club are an inspiration. They want nothing more than to see you succeed and to pass on their knowledge and experiences of Shotokan karate. They are so supportive of your karate journey whatever your level/skill, from a beginner to an advanced senior grade. I have learnt so much in my time training in Shotokan, and continue to do so. The learning never ends!

I would 100% recommend joining Newport IOW Shotokan Karate Club. We're a friendly bunch, come along and join us and try it out 🥋

What a great club for youngsters to start their karate training . My son started in March this year and thoroughly enjoys it . It’s Very inclusive and super friendly . We are so pleased how our son has taken to his new sport at Newport Shotokan karate club . Everyone has been so welcoming . Thanks to all the Senseis .

I've really enjoyed being there as its been a long time now and training with the sensais of the dojo and micks been brilliant! Really does push how we need to go to help with grading I love going to karate. The downside is I wish for longer hours. The more I train the more confident I become and help towards grading enjoying different techniques in karate and the fun of learning!

Our son age 14 started around 2-2.1/2 years ago. Karate and the club itself has a positive impact physically and mentally on our son. He mentions often about how it’s very much has a feeling of family and he really enjoys his time taking part. Highly recommended. A great local club.

Fantastic club with outstanding tuition. Proud to have been training here for 9 years and to have achieved my black belt in 2016 with the club. This is one of the oldest martial arts club on the island it dates back to the early seventies and has a long history of teaching Shotokan Karate.
All the instructors have been training in martial arts for 35 to 40 years.
The club has separate junior and adult classes for beginners, intermediate and advanced grades. Each class provides a structured programme so that students can learn at their level of fitness and experience.

I joined this dojo a year back, after moving to the island. It’s a great club for beginners to join (2 of my children now enrolled as well!) and also for more experienced individuals to develop their kata and kumite. Great instructors who are motivating and get the best from you, but at the same time in a safe and controlled environment. Highly recommend.
