I did a phone call this morning to request information and to send a email for his manager, the lady on shift at Shapphire at 11:30am, today 20/05/2025 answered the phone call very rude, agressive and screamming and turned off the phone refusing share more information about his manager email and his social worker emails.I was not sure if she is member of his team, she is very unprofessional and not qualified to work in health and social care sector. This is a cause of big concerns and investigation. If this lady has this actitud by phone ,how is her actitud with his patients?

I've come in to Ivory ward (female ward) thinking I was gonna get the help I need but the consultant Dr John Iyiola should not be there. At first I was hoping and thinking he would listen and understand the circumstances I was in but now I know it all went into one ear and out the other. Another thing he likes doing is labeling people as if they're objects.
Though the nurses are nice but I was there for just a short period. I must point out to two nurses who have been awesomely great and understanding - Nelson and Irena. Thank you to you two, you made me feel a bit like my voice was being heard.
I'm sorry to say but NHS sucks with helping people with mental health.

Wish I could give 0 stars. Most of the staff are cold, harsh and uncaring. I had a family member staying here; a place supposedly safe. I fear the patients here will only get worse, as there is no support or help at all! In my son’s words, he left even more unwell than when he came in. This place needs a serious investigation and improvement.

If you care about the well-being of your family or friend DO NOT LEAVE THEM HERE!! It’s a miracle I made it out alive.

Ivory ward has no leadership direction or mental health support. Patients are just left to suffer. I did find a sensory room due to another patient having access and letting me join but that’s the only positive, aside from that they have no facilities and offer no therapies to support you or keep you busy.

This place was awful and has scarred me for life. My family would bring things in for me and these were shared between other patients without my knowledge. When I asked Amos (staff manager) about this he said I threatened another patient and got me put in seclusion for 3 plus days. Seclusion is a concrete room with a flat blue mattress on the floor where they leave you to rot. I had cold air blowing on me 24/7 and just light clothing on. I felt like I would die in there it was like a torture room. It honestly seemed like somewhere they put terrorist. I did not eat or drink water the whole time in there I was too distressed by being placed in hell.

A nurse eventually helped me with additional clothing to put on because it was so freezing one night I could not cope my whole body hurt I was in so much pain shaking and walking up and down just to try to keep warm I was ready to give up on life. It was literally torture and punishment they just watched me through a window ignoring anything I said. Even though I begged many staff he was the only one that helped me. He was a angel I was so grateful.

Eventually Amos came with about 10 large male staff to intimidate me all standing over me as if I was going to fight despite me never being violent to staff or patients. He (Amos) asked me are you calm now? I did not answer so he said fine laughed and said he would be back later. I knew better than to respond with 10 big men standing over me.

They finally let me out hours later that day and moved me to Emerald ward which was actually peaceful and aided in my healing. I’m so grateful to the staff on Emerald Ward they saved my life because being in seclusion and Ivory Ward broke me to pieces. I wish I remembered all the amazing names of the staff there but honestly they showed true care.

I understand people need mental health help but this place will destroy people. I will not be surprised if there’s a serious case review or death in the near future because the staff are a law unto themselves and are fraudulent in their practice. The other reviews are correct especially about Ivory Ward where staff stay in the office and avoid any patient interactions day and night. Any interactions are full of aggression, disrespect or dismissal. Any good reviews will be from other wards as that’s where you may find some decent staff willing to listen and help.

Behaviour from staff is disrespectful and unworthy of their jobs. Disgrace to the NHS badge, this “treatment” centre should be shut down.

Doctors and nurses here are non existent. Admin staff are just rude

I was transferred to newham for my mental health, Kingsley a young nurse on ivory ward was so helpful, such a cool guy and takes time to listen to patients, would recommend ivory ward for all females admitted here. Nicole a new nurse on the ward is an excellent nurse, very kind and compassionate and always been there for me when I needed her, and always comforted me and made me smile during my admission, seeing her brightens up my day x
