I have recently attended the Rapid Access chest pain service - excellent in every way. A few days before I attended radiology, equally good. My husband has just had an excellent consultation in the Retinal Service and commented on how clean, friendly and well run the hospital appeared to be. We are very fortunate to have it in our town.

Helpful staff doing their best on New Years Day.

However, it is a 2 1/2 to 3 hours to be seen by a GP.

Come prepared for a long wait.

See photos for additional info.

I recently had an outstanding experience at the New QEII Hospital’s Endoscopy Department. From the initial booking and thorough instructions to the swift assistance when I needed replacements, every aspect was handled professionally.

The staff maintained excellent privacy and ensured I felt at ease throughout the process.

The entire team, including the nurses and endoscopist, displayed exceptional competence, care, and friendliness.

The procedure was managed with great skill, and the aftercare was prompt and considerate.

This experience far exceeded my expectations and rivalled private sector care.

Highly recommend! The photos added don't contain myself, any other person or any personal data. I’ve added them to convey that the facility is modern, clean and to give an idea of the food/drink available.

Went for a blood test. Needed the loo first and looked like someone completely missed the bowel.
Was seen quickly.
Great staff
Rest of building was clean but noticed the floor is lifting at the entrance to the place you get your blood tests. Might become a trip hazard soon.

As far as UK hospitals go and coming from someone who has a fear of hospitals, this one is so so pleasant. My mother had a colonoscopy today and the staff were so kind, professional and friendly. It honestly restored my faith in humanity.

Horrible experience with A&E. Took my 1 year old with fever, vomiting and with medication she couldn’t take anymore, we were seen by a very rude doctor who told me to force her to take the medicine and she doesn’t look like a sick baby. She didn’t even bother to consult her. Wouldn’t recommend this hospital for children, please take your child to be seen somewhere else because here you have to be truly dying to be looked at. There were no other patients before us or after us to justify the lack of empathy or respect or rush to push us out the door especially when it comes to seeing a 1 year old. Horrific!

I had a CT scan, at 2.10, the results were back with the doctor, by 7pm . I also had a previous scan on last Friday, the 3rd, January, results by Monday, Excellent service by the QE2 , thank you ! The staff were excellent, put me at ease, and made the experience pleasant, whereas , without that, it would have been stressful

I had a CT scan appointment for 12:10 but arrived early at 11:40. I checked in to the radiology department and went to sit and wait. As I got to my seat my name was called. I had my CT scan within 10 minutes and back in the car park before my 20 minutes free parking was up. Brilliant !
