I haven't been in hospital since I was 11 so 47 years on I was very nervous about having a hip replacement. I needn't have been as the care provided by absolutely everyone I met or spoke to on the phone was wonderful. My consultant Ben Holdroyd explained everything clearly and I felt I could ask him anything. I cannot praise all of the staff I met in my 3 day stay enough. On the day of the op everyone was great. Nothing was too much trouble and they made me feel welcome and relaxed. Particular thanks to nurse Julie, physio Lauren and Julie and team for the wonderful food! If you ever need to use any services offered by Mount Stuart you won't be disappointed. Thanks all!

I am extremely grateful to everyone I had contact with at Mount Stuart Hospital, from the lovely receptionist who greeted me and tried to make me feel better as she knew I was nervous. Then I met Mr Singh who was absolutely brilliant and explained everything to me and made me feel at ease, to the lovely nurse who said she had a hand I could grab hold of if I needed to, then the other nurse who administered my injection into my stomach who was again lovely and made me feel at ease (sorry I've forgotten your lovely nurses names) but honestly all are absolutely incredible.
I'm due to be seen again next month for another injection and not feeling in the slightest bit nervous about it after my amazing first experience.
Thankyou everyone ?

I recently underwent surgery with Mr Nick Cawrse at Mount Stuart Torquay.

Just a few days into my recovery, I'm blown away with the professional and wonderful service I've had so far.

I can't fault a single thing.

I was very apprehensive, but I soon felt calm and relaxed, feeling as I was in the best hands.

During my night stay, the food was exceptional, along with every single member of staff that cared for me.

I would just like to say a huge thank you to everyone so far for the absolutely wonderful, faultless service ❤️

I had excellent care at Mount Stuart Hospital on 07/10/24. My first surgical procedure. Under the excellent care of Miss Leggott (Consultant Gynaecologist) who explained thoroughly the procedure, booked my procedure in a timely manner and always leaves me feeling reassured that I am going to receive the best care possible. On the day, was welcomed by friendly reception staff, treated with kindness, good humour and sensitivity by Michelle (HCA) till my procedure where I met the anaesthetist Tamara who explained everything clearly about what was going to happen, medication administered by lovely nurse (sorry name escapes me) and friendly theatre nurses who took excellent care of me during and after my procedure. Now back home making a good recovery. Follow up call next day was appreciated. You are a credit to your profession. Thank you.

Torquay based private hospital owned by Ramsay Healthcare, I visited for a consultation via my health insurance.
Parking is a well known struggle with very limited spaces on site, so get there early for your appointment. 2 hour free parking is available down the road outside about a 2min walk away.
There is a three step procedure to enter, sanitise hands, change your mask and have your temperature taken.
Friendly staff await you at reception, water and tea & coffee available in the waiting rooms and toilets are available.
A mobile scanning unit was available on site at the time of my visit on which I had a scan later that week.

Sent by DRSS , as a NHS patient , in April 23.Had been on the " waiting list " for over 2 years .Despite requiring an medical procedure ( urology ) that would only take around 20 minutes and despite being under Mount Stuart's care for 18 months, a combination of horrendous administration and unprofessionalism by staff this procedure never took place !!!!
I have suffered really badly and experienced humiliation and pain that at times have been unbereable .The Management at Mount Stuart REFUSE to accept any responsibility in this matter and have adopted " a head in the sand attitude " hoping it all goes away .
I advise anyone attending Mount Stuart , especially as a NHS patient , to ensure they document their care and challenge any " issues " that may arise and I sincerely hope they receive better treatment and care than I did .You never know " miracles do happen " !!!!

I was an NHS patient but was fortunate enough to be offered Mount Stuart for my Right hip replacement, I cannot fault anything about this hospital , I booked in at reception and it wasn’t long before I was shown my room. My nerves were really starting to show but after my consultant Mr.Lofthouse and the anaesthetist had come to see me in my room I was assured that everything would be ok. I had a spinal block and sedation and I can honestly say I don’t remember a thing.
The staff go above and beyond to keep on top of pain medication and answer any worries that you may have. And last but not least the food is absolutely delicious,a big shout out to the chefs and the lovely catering staff who brings the food to our room, and you are spoilt for choice for what they offer on the menu.
Thankyou to each and everyone for the marvellous care I received you are all angels.
Kindest regards
Karen
