My mum had a two week respite stay at Millview and liked it so much that she asked to extend a further two weeks. Unfortunately the care home is out of our price range for a permanent stay which is a shame as we couldn’t fault the service provided and the company she gets from fellow residents.
The staff are lovely, very caring and responsive and mum really enjoyed the various entertainment and activities arranged through Paul. The rooms are a decent size and well equipped. It is thoughtful that permanent residents can adapt their room to make it more to their comfort and homely whilst remaining a safe and caring environment.
I would recommend Mill View to anyone looking for a safe and comfortable home which is caring and respectful.

My Mum has now been at Mill View for 8 years and during that time has received excellent care. We chose Mill View as they put the residents first and all staff look upon the home as the residents home. It is kept very nice and fresh and clean. I feel it is fair to say that my Mum would not now be with us were it not for the care she has received.

During the extremely sad and testing time of Covid, the staff and management team did all they could to make sure that everyone’s relatives were in a safe and caring environment.

I don’t feel it is too strong to say that our family would not have Mum anywhere else.

I don’t have any experience as an actual client or resident of this care home but I just wanted to write a review following a lovely recent visit with my two children. My son attends the Sunnyside Preschool just up the road and we had some cakes left over from his Valentines Party bake sale so we decided to donate them to the staff and residents of Mill View. One of the residents was in the foyer whilst we waited to be let in and she and the children were making each other smile and laugh through the door which was just so special. The young lady on reception was incredibly friendly and approachable and very grateful for the cakes. The entrance foyer area was incredibly clean, bright and colourful and then I spotted the Cafe area for residents round the corner, which I think looked wonderful! I learned that the home had recently undergone a revamp and makeover. Again, I cannot comment on internal facilities or staff etc but as a first impression I think it looks like a wonderful care home.

My Dad moved into Mill View in August 2020 for respite care. Unfortunately his dementia and other issues meant he couldn’t move back home and is now in residential care, and after a period of adjustment he is now as happy and content as he can be. The management, care, and entertainment staff are friendly, caring and professional. I sleep better at night knowing he is safe and someone is there if he falls or gets up during the night , and following the refurbishment the spaces are light and airy and my dad sometimes takes himself off to get a tea or coffee and a piece of cake from the ‘cafe’ (which are delicious by the way) and this gives him independence whilst being safe, there is also a cinema with a popcorn machine which he is very happy about! He now remembers the names of many of the carers and entertainment staff as quite a few have been there since he moved in so has formed trusting relationships and has a routine which is so important for him with dementia, he has even learnt the odd Italian word from one of the lovely staff members. I often get a call after a singer has been in or he’s done something fun and as he explains what happened I can’t help but think he would miss out on all this if still at home or elsewhere. Finally it’s a great space for relatives and friends to visit and I visit quite regularly - during the COVID years it has been difficult but now you can feel the freedom when you visit, plus the coffee machine and cakes are a bonus 🙂 the pub is conveniently just opposite so it’s great for getting out for lunch as a change of scenery.

This residential care home is well managed, staffed by enthusiastic and well trained staff, clean, safe and responsive and supplies excellent residential care within a modern building some fifteen minutes walk from the centre of East Grinstead. Rooms are somewhat larger than average, for the area, and incorporate an en suite wet room. The activities for residents are well organised and varied. The lounges, gardens, cinema, dining room, coffee shop, cleaning, individual care, hairdressing, podiatry, opticians and dentistry services are all excellent.

Probably the key to the quality of care is the philosophy that the staff come in to work in the resident’s own home and this translates into really imaginative and consistently high quality care.

My Mum moved to Mill View about this time last year after much deliberation within the family - stay at home with a care package or sell up and move into residential accommodation at Mill View?

Despite the fact that she had tremendously caring neighbours her "home" was 40 miles away from the family and, after a fall resulting in a broken hip, a hospital stay prolonged due to Covid and a not very successful attempt at living at home with a care package, we decided that residential care was the answer

Not hard to decide where to go as my Mother-in-law spent her last months at Mill View where we found the nursing and care staff to be tremendously supportive, again during lockdown, so a particularly difficult time for all

The staff made the transition from home to Mill View for Mum as smooth as possible, not just on the practical side, but helping to steer us through the complicated process of organising the finances to make things work

Mum has dementia and is now pretty immobile so we're looking at moving her from the downstairs residential wing to the nursing floor so I can only comment on the care that she's received "downstairs" over these last 12 months. This, however, we have found to be excellent

The whole purpose of moving to Mill View was for Mum to be in a situation as close to her home environment as possible and I think it's fair to say that that is what she now enjoys

During her hospital stays we felt that she received little in the way of kindness or "TLC", no doubt due to the pressures of the nursing staff operating in a stretched NHS environment, and the short-lived experiment of Mum going home with a care package revealed that there aren't many real carers out there

So it was as much for our peace of mind as Mum's welfare that she moved to Mill View. She settled in quickly and we knew that, as well as being professionally cared for, she would be eating regular meals, her medication would be properly dispensed, she'd be monitored as far as her health was concerned and, most importantly, she would be "safe"

It's fair to say that Mill View is not the cheapest but we're reassured that, whatever the future holds, Mill View will continue to put her welfare first and foremost, providing peace of mind for us all, something that you can't really put a price on
