I recently had an appointment with Miss Katie Chiropodist and I couldn't be more pleased with the experience! From the moment I walked in, she was welcoming and professional, making me feel comfortable right away.

Miss Katie Chiropodist is incredibly knowledgeable and took the time to explain every step of the treatment process. She addressed all my concerns and provided valuable advice on foot care that I hadn't received before.

The treatment itself was thorough and effective, and I left feeling much better than when I arrived.

I highly recommend Miss Katie Chiropodist to anyone in need of foot care. Her expertise and friendliness truly make a difference!
Thank you for such a wonderful experience.

There is a wonderful woman with lovely eyelashes who works in the Community Women's Health Service. I wish I caught her name. She was assisting my doctor and her kindness brightened the room. I was nervous and she did an excellent job of supporting me. I hope that she knows what a positive impact she made for me today.

I was detained under mental health act for suicide attempt. Mental health staff was rude, blackmailed me for my medication “if you don’t fix your ‘attitude’ I will not give you your medication” (for my severe eczema) even though he was the one being rude to me first. They didn’t release me on my release day, when I went out for break, I escaped then when I went back to collect my belongings, they say “what are you doing here, you have been discharged, if you collect your stuff you will have to stay here for another day” which I had to stay. Before i left for break i closed my room door (because i had EXPENSIVE belongings inside), when i came back to collect, the room door was completely (staff opened since patients cannot open themselves without card) open prone to patients and staff potentially stealing my stuff which luckily no one did. I also remember they gave one of my vapes my family bought for me and they stored ‘safely’ for me and they gave it to another patient behind my back!! I did not receive outpatient care/therapy. It’s been over 2 years and I still haven’t received ANY therapy whatsoever. The staff sometimes ignore your requests, even if they are urgent. I had to LIE my way out of that dump mental health hospital otherwise they would’ve kept me for longer. 2 years later I’m still depressed with ZERO support.

Signage to the Main Entrance is wrong, it directs you to a locked building. I'm aware that there are building works going on however they could at least put up a temporary sign. We had to direct several other confused patients to the actual entrance. When you finally find the actual main reception, a surly man tells you to go down the hall. A smile costs nothing - I was lucky to be accompanied by someone but for many patients these staff are the only people they will see all day and they should get training on being more people-focused. The imaging reception staff were equally unfriendly, as was the imaging technician. She seemed competent but she did tell me there's a 4 week wait for mammogram results which is surprising given that it is within a maximum of 2 weeks at any other hospital. The ladies' bathroom in the hallway near the imaging unit has a door that won't close and needs sanding down, so use another one.

This review solely concerns the Therapy Unit at Mile End Hospital. On the 3rd of July 2024 I had an appointment with the Therapy Unit regarding intense leg pain I’ve been dealing with for over a year, and the clinician who saw me determined that the most probably cause was long covid (though he was unable to find a definite cause). I was so thankful at that time that after months of appointments and blood tests, it seemed like someone was taking my issue seriously, and was happy when he scheduled a telephone appointment for the 10th of July at 12:30 the following week to discuss being referred to a long covid clinic.

Despite being at my 9-5 job, the following week I waited for this appointment for over an hour, until I called the reception an hour later during my lunch break and was informed that the clinician must’ve forgotten about my appointment. The receptionist was very kind and told me she’d speak to him asap and get him to call me the same day. A few hours later, I received a call from the receptionist saying she’d not been able to get through to him, and that he would call me during the following two days, on Thursday or Friday. I agreed to this, despite the fact that it was frustrating that I was not given a specific times and I had work. Needless to say, I never received this call.

On Monday 15th July, I called the receptionist again, and she said she would escalate this to the clinician’s manager as this was unacceptable. It is now the 31st of August and I have not received a single call back or update regarding my appointment. I am still in intense pain and incredibly frustrated. I usually would never write a review like this and I really appreciate the hard work of the NHS, but this lack of service completely unacceptable and I feel truly at a loss.

Such a lovely, clean hospital. If you're here for an MRI scan, it's an extra-anxious time, so it's a pity about the couldn't-care-less attitude of the imaging reception staff. Other than that, I could not fault my appointment here. The scan was carried out in the private facility of Compleo, not in the NHS facility inside. The Compleo staff were pleasant and efficient.

I use this hospital on a regular basis for chronic pain . Having previously attended the London I’m grateful to now be attending the Mile End Hospital which is like a cottage hospital for some one in constant pain it’s a relief to have the speed in which you have no waiting time when you arrive you get to know the staff and I have no complaints what so ever ! I’m very grateful they kept this up after Covid I would be devastated if they changed this back to the royal
