April 2019 I received a visit from Social Services who carried out everything but a financial check. Instead I was told by my now parted social worker, that I was entitled to an £86 budget from the government each week to cover costs for the hrs a carer would visit, approx 4hrs per week.
By the end of May I'd received 4 bills for over £100 for the hrs my carer had visited. I was clueless as nobody had done a financial assessment with me at home. When I demanded answers I was told they had done an initial financial assessment at the office
Their findings were hilarious and so very wrong. And out of order.
I asked for a carer as I was struggling around the flat, the pain stopped me from doing simple things like hoovering, dusting, putting shopping away, cleaning the floors,. I cannot kneel down, crouch down, stretch up, decorate, wash/dry my hair, I cannot bend to cut toe nails, putting socks etc on is just do-able,.
My carer arrives, sits down, and gets her mobiles!! Out and starts tapping. Which I hate. (In your own time please). Especially if I'm paying for the service. Which right now wont be anything until a home financial assessment is done with me for me!!!
