I wish there was an option to give 0 star. I was sent by 111 to urgent GP to get my 6 years old checked. At A&E reception there were 3 ladies busy on computers and 9 of us waited for over 35 minutes. After that I was sent to the children section where it was absolutely disaster. One doctor yes one doctor and over 15 children needed treatment. Facilities were there but no doctors. After 2 hours finally my son was seen by this young lady doctor who clearly was too tired herself to even check anymore patients.
She said it’s viral infection just take your son home and give him paracetamol. Like I haven’t been giving him that past 2 days. He’s temperature was 42.8 and you are sending him home like he’s fine.
NHS seriously need to hire more doctors or shut it completely.
Thank you

I won't mention any names. But there is plenty of room for improvement. The head midwife and the trainee that we allowed to come in that actually helped deliver our baby were great. The main midwife had to order a few of the other nurses around due to poor admin work / not having things prepared etc. 1. Less talk, more action. Too much banter between staff. I get it you're being over worked and need a break but keep the volume down. 2. Things should be ready in the maternity delivery suites at all times. Midwives and nurses panicking gave us a panic attack at such a critical moment. They didn't know how to attach the nitrous oxide tube to the plug in the wall, didn't know how to find a vein to attach a drip so attempted it four times and failed, each time struggling to open a roll of surgical tape to cover up the oozing blood because of their latex gloves so I had to do it. 3. Random people coming in and out of the delivery room while a baby is being naturally delivered. The male cleaner in the ward was just standing there as we were initially arriving into the room, he's just stood there watching and had to be told off by the nurse to move out the way and go around the corner and to stop staring. Absolute shambles. Finally I am giving 3 stars because thank God everything was fine in the end and once the baby arrived it was a great experience all round. We were offered food, that cheap buttered white toast tastes amazing for some reason. Every time we rang the bell for assistance we were seen too promptly.

Worst maternity unit. Ward 33 & triage is a joke and the staff have 0 experience and the skills necessary to work in the environment. Staff is only there to make their money and pass time by talking to each other about their sad lives rather than actually doing their job. One lady even thought a 14 year old little girl was ‘a patient trying to sneak out with baby’. Like how can you not tell child visitors apart from your patients Ridiculous behaviour and one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had in a hospital. They are rude, passive aggressive, sarcastic and patronising. Staff refers to patients as objects rather than human beings. Something needs to be done about how this hospital is run because it is not acceptable. I wish there was an option for 0 stars or even minus because that’s what I would rate this poor excuse of a maternity unit. My advice to anyone out there, DO NOT GO TO THIS HOSPITAL IF YOU ARE HAVING A BABY. They can’t even take blood from you properly and takes every midwife, nurse and doctor at least 3 times to draw it. They think high levels of infection is normal and send you home even though it’s way above the normal range. Then call you back in when you get worse at home. Staff will ignore you multiple times or tell you they are coming back but disappear. Poor service. Poor staff. Overall pathetic and staff should be ashamed of themselves. They love to be snobby little know it alls but then won’t accept when they’ve made a mistake.

I had to have emergency surgery for a molar pregnancy removal. I was very anxious about the whole thing but from start to finish every single member of staff I met made me feel calm and happy. I even managed to have a laugh during a time that should that been very stressful. I am so grateful to the whole team and everyone who helped save my life. The NHS is such a beautiful thing and I hope the pay increases for you all soon and we put more funding into the beautiful establishment we are so lucky to have.

Recently I have been hospitalised at this hospital after suffering from a seizure.
First thing I have noticed that it is very clean and always there is a member of staff in nearby willing to help you and make you feel comfortable. I have spent almost a week in the ward 21 room A bed no3 next to the window which I loved it as I was waking up with the natural light. Was rich with a variety of choices but also you could bring your own cereals, jam, penut butter and so on, they will provide you with milk, tea, plates, 🥣, cutlery, fruits etc. On the table next to bed you have a restaurant menu taking in consideration the amount of choices you have for lunch and dinner. They are all good but my favourites were sheperds pie and chicken chow mein. I couldn't say about the whole medical and non medical staff that one was better than the other. They are professional and know their job without a doubt. I have received so much care and love from all of them that made me feel sorry I have to leave. In some places you have to send your life savings to embrace such an experience.
Thank you all from the bottom of my heart ❤️ and wish you to be treated as I was or even better wherever you will go!
With all the respect and Best Regards,

I was due to have a small surgical procedure at 1015. I arrived about 0945 was seen immediately and sent on my way at 1013. No pain except for the initial anaesthetic needle. Charming consultant and staff. Kept informed at every stage.

Overall really slow, poor service. Unclean, no humanity whatsoever in staff.

Giving 3 stars overall (only) for the woman working at front desk around 7pm on 6th April. She was truly amazing in delivering customer service. Anticipates needs without speaking, compassionate and kind.

Focus your budget on hiring people like her… not whoever was manning paediatrics. Horrid.

I never had a good experience when it comes to the urgent GP or emergency department (it was never anything serious). But as for the specialists/ staff at the endoscopy and imaging wards… AMAZING. I had such a great experience, thank you for doing what you’re doing!
