Went today for the second time to book an appt but received an attitude from the receptionists who then walked off without addressing the issue simply because she “does not want to entertain this.”
My dad (English is not his first language) tried to go first time and they sent him away with a link to book online.
I couldn’t book online after 2pm which is something they had never mentioned but instead said i “went online at the wrong time.” I work a full time job as a doctor with on-call commitments, what’s “the wrong time” sorry? Regardless, I tried numerous times to get him an appt.
On walking in today, the receptionist acknowledged he had come before and started to declare his medical situation out loud. I addressed it and said they were breaching confidentiality after which they accused me of being loud and tried to blame me instead. I was very unhappy with the receptionists and told them I would put in a formal complaint. My second concern was, now that they’ve already plastered my dad’s business everywhere, what can we do to avoid this happening with others and suggested maybe go to a separate room and discuss? They weren’t having any of it, she was very rude, tried to conveniently switch the situation onto me and said had we called there wouldn’t be no breach to which I replied there is a subset of patients that cannot use online booking or prefer to come in person for whatever reason (maybe they’re elderly?!). I will put in a written complaint to the practice manager and have changed practices.
Please don’t go to this practice. It’s disheartening to see gp receptionists not know of basic NHS principles and maybe we should work on having them trained on medical ethics as well as better triage. At the very least, it is their job to be polite and provide good service to their patients and it is because of individuals like themselves that patients end up not seeing their GPs, fall really unwell and end up at the hospital.

I can see why others have left bad reviews in particular because of the receptionists behaviour.

I can’t thank the team enough for the outstanding care they provided when both my daughter and son came in for an injection. They went above and beyond, even going out of their way to collect the injection for my daughter. The nurses’ attentiveness was exceptional; when she went pale afterwards, they immediately ensured she was comfortable, staying with us and monitoring her until they were absolutely certain she was alright before letting us go. This level of care and dedication made us feel genuinely valued and reassured. I highly recommend this practice – a truly compassionate and professional team!

I have been a patient at this surgery for a very long time - I have had nothing but positive experiences with the wonderful GPs and nurses.
Special mention to Tracey who went out of her way to help me this morning even though a member of reception staff had advised it was a definite ‘no’. Keep up the good work.

Yesterday I came in with my mother and she was a bit nervous due to having injections in her knees the Dr P Cains was fantastic he was soo welcoming made my mother comfortable was very understanding. He went over and beyond took further blood test to make sure there was nothing wrong elsewhere. I’d give 6 starts if I could fantastic service.

Absolute joke of a surgery - they do not take mental health issues seriously whatsoever and seem more interested in getting patients in and out as quickly as possible. So glad I moved practices.

i was desperate to see my doctor. i rang at 8 am to be told that i had to go online. i did this and had to ring back and was told that the site was down. i need my meds so i can work. can't get past receptionist. i had xrays 3 months ago, can't get past receptionist for results. my blood pressure is 200 on top reading, cant get past receptionist. At some point someone is going to die. why are unqualified clerks chosing who sees the doctor on a decison made by telephonists? someone in this practice needs to get off their backside and 'smell the coffee' i'm done with this practice. good luck to anyone who needs help. i've transfered to a small practice after being with these for 60 years. takes a lot to do this but i can't put up with my health being compromised and i'm not prepared to die because someone has no common sense. i am actually holding back about what has happened . i really dont like being negative but this needs addressing . the service is shocking and useless. you might be ok if you have a rash or something minor. if you are seriously ill, you are on your own here because immature clerks with no life experience will make sure as hell you can't see your doctor even if like me you have paid 50 years of national insurance - for what?-
