Dr Banzal's secretary (Laura) is an absolute star. She always listens to me ramble on the phone about my millions of health problems and makes me feel seen and heard. She takes her time and listens, and nothing is ever too much trouble, I can tell she genuinely just wants to help ❤️‍🩹. I only wish it hadn't taken until I was in my 20s to finally get the care and understanding that I/all of us deserve ❤️‍🩹

Honestly I couldn't have asked for any better treatment, from the time I entered the hospital to the time I left. Everything that was going to happen was thoroughly explained to me clearly and confidently. As I was being given the general aesthetic there was a nurse by my side reassuring me everything is going to be alright.
All of my belongings were brought to the ward I was on after being taken there after the operation, literally a few minutes after arriving there alongside a few other peoples.
Would highly recommend Leicester General Hospital to anyone.
Not to mention how can anyone complain about free healthcare anyways?
I would give a shout-out to certain members of staff but I can't remember what their names were. But if you're reading this and works at Leicester general, I honestly cannot thank you enough as it's saved me from a lot of pain and discomfort 🙂

I loved the older gentleman who worked for the hospital and helped be my guide for the cardiac department; the whole hospital felt welcoming with the lovely staff. I prefer this hospital to the Royal.

Excellent hospital. Staff have always supported me too even when I been admitted with having various health conditions over the years. As well as always helped my daughter out with her Asthma condition and provided me with excellent health care advice to manage this life long condition.

Ok so started off good staff in the taa were really nice was shown to a room where I saw my consultant who was really informative and answered my concerns
Next the anethetist also answered my concerns not any worries there.
Was then took through for my operation that’s when it went down hill anethetist used a inadequate needle for spinal block I heard him say I need to use a longer one was poking around for ages he caught a nerve I asked for a sedative I’m sure I wasn’t given one I was fully aware of the operation very traumatic.
Went to recovery no problem there was then transferred to ward 18 my nurse was lovely I don’t know her name(sorry)but some of the other nurses didn’t want to be there and didn’t you know it !
Was given a stale cheese sandwich to eat
The feeling in my legs took a long time to come back so it was getting towards evening time before I could even go for a wee.
Physios came round put me through my paces all good so asked if I could go home as they provide LEAP service was told NO you need to see O T but they finish at 6 and I needed a raised toilet seat so was told I had to stay in over night for the sake of a toilet seat !!! I said I’m going home I’ll buy a toilet seat nurses seemed as though they were ganging up on me to stay (I did go home) OT rang the nxt day they were fine with me my surgeon saw me before I went home my x rays were fine.
I asked for a sick note was told it would be posted to me surely this should have been issued before going home I was asked at pre assessment if I needed one. I had to ring 3 times chasing a sick note on the 7th day my husband fetched it himself !!!!! (I spoke to a lovely lady on the phone about it not her fault )all in all I’ve had a terrible experience and will not use this hospital again nhs come on you can do better !!!!!

Had to go to the sleep clinic to pick up a device to wear overnight. If the device fails, there is a number to call in THE TUTORIAL AREA of how to equip it. This number doesn’t work. It’s almost a 2 hour round trip for me to get to the hospital and back. I called the hospital the following day to let them know I would not be returning the device due to it not working and me having no way of contacting anyone to help with troubleshooting (I also tried calling the sleep clinic themselves but there is no one to answer the phone at night….. at the sleep clinic….). The woman who I spoke to the following day said I had to take the device back and that the number is not for me to call. It literally is, before I could read the part of the tutorial about the number to her she put the phone down.

Edit: I ended up getting a replacement device and went ahead with the trial. A couple of months went by and I was given a follow up appointment. Due to a family issue I could not attend so I tried to cancel the appointment on the app. It wouldn’t let me. I tried calling numerous times but it turns out that it’s not just nights that no one answers the phone. I couldn’t get through to anybody once. I have called this number A LOT and only once had it been picked up (that once was the day after the device wasn’t working). As I couldn’t cancel my appointment over the phone I sent an email. Clearly no one reads the emails either as today I received a letter stating that they have discharged me for not attending the appointment. Useless.

I was very satisfied when I gave birth, I recommend it, 10 out of 10. Thank you to the midwives and everyone for the extraordinary behavior you had with me, I'm coming back for my second birth there too 🫣😅🫣😘
