Well, I am on a section 2 on Tunstall ward again. I’ve been here two times before I find some of the stuff good and some of the stuff really scary very very scary. I thought the doctors seem to be good obviously I am still on here. I’m getting very scared with some of the. Care workers on here everybody is obviously on a lot of drugs and the young girls. It is upsetting to see there’s something very very wrong going on in here but I do not know how who is doing it really and how can they get away with doing things? One carer keeps going into the toilets with her glasses as well and she looks like she’s on crystal meth or something you know can we come? There? Be trusted? Are they doing things with drugs on here? I don’t believe it could be the doctors. I hope not.Riona Martin Spencer Farah the 11th of the seventh 1981 all I want is for people to get well and safe

Very very poor place. There is minimum care and some of the nurses just fob you off and can be very condescending.
The psychiatrist is a joke, they are just there to pay lip service and number crunch.
A lot of the staff are agency workers and not real nurses.
I was discharged with a promise of quick intervention from the CMHT. I been home for 4 weeks next week and ive just recd my first appt!!!
Mental health care in this country just sucks!!!!

I am here to pick up a family member for a ‘day out’. He was told paperwork would be signed by 10.30. It is now 12.49. I have just watched the member of staff responsible for the paperwork calmly sit and eat his lunch, a few feet away from the paper work in his office? This is an absolute disgrace, the customer is quite obviously not a priority in this place. We have just been told to wait until 1pm because the secretary is on lunch?!

I got a third degree burn at this hospital and the staff didn’t even call out a dr. I went on leave and visited my local urgent care centre where I was told I needed a referral to Newcastle RVI for skin grafts. The staff care little about the patients. Facilities aren’t very comfortable. Avoid if possible.

The mental health ward in Lanchester Road hospital is absolutely awful, and if anything makes the patients worse than when they went in. Some of the staff are absolute bully's with the patients because they assume no one will believe a patient with mental health illness!
