Lovely, kind and helpful staff and Doctors. Yes it can be frustrating to wait on the line but it does go down quickly. Great Texts to remind me of an appointment or when one is due. I have fairly complex medical needs and am very grateful for their ongoing care and attention

This practice has no duty of care for its patients. Drs dont read notes, dont look at patterns in patients conditions, rude and abrasive giving patients lectures over the pgone, hanging up on patients while giving results, never and i mean never seeing the same dr twice without having a godd 4 to 6 week wait time for appointments! The phone service is shocking on hold for up to an hour and being told all appointments have gone!
If i was the practice manager here i would be embarrassed and ashamed of the lack of care and attention given to those that need it most!
This practice needs investigation and improvement measures put in place immediately!

I’m going to seem extremely impatient or ‘woke’ with how I type this out but honestly, this practise is horrid. Sad how it’s the only doctors you can get in Louth on the nhs.

They won’t do shared care, first off, even with full guidance from whoever they are bridging from. Because the management here don’t like to hold any responsibility and skirt around problems to the best of their ability, giving the most lacklustre advice.

Have asked multiple times, given evidence or further symptoms that I need to be referred for a psychologist but nope, gotta go to therapist first even though on my reports I’ve gone to one before and it never worked.

Let alone, if you ever have a common problem or general illness or flu, trying to get a doctor will still take you three weeks btw. As they hardly ever do same or next day appointments.

Only pro are the nurses who do blood tests, and doctor jijo. They are lovely. Outside of that, the management? The other doctors? Genuinely shocking they even have medical licenses still.

The chances of seeing a doctor at this surgery is next to zero. With various illnesses over the past 5 years, going through the well documented 8am scramble of queuing on the telephone, if you're one of the lucky ones you'll get a nurse callback. If they think you're worth seeing they'll see you that day.
Try booking an appointment with a doctor online? Today, it is impossible as the screenshot shows. Over the next two weeks there are, for men, just 6 appointments available, all with nurses of one type or another. This is at one of two surgeries in a town of about 20,000 people, so estimating 10,000 patients.
For management, that has created a service where the doctors are basically invisible, and do nothing to improve the situation, I give the lowest score. An extra star because the staff you meet are genuinely nice people.

It would be 0 stars, if allowed. If your under a specialist, this doctors won't do anything for you, they demand your specialist do it. Not had my repeat medication in nearly a year since i registered here, as they refuse to prescribe it, stating that my specialist needs to, when I have been with different doctors for years and never been refused medication like this. It wouldn't be so bad if medication wasn't a controlled drug meaning
it cannot be sent to me and oh by the way its around a 2hour drive there and back. After fighting for months with this doctors I have registered some where else. All I can say is good luck

Been registered at this practice twice first recieved a call from a very rude dimissive doctor who wouldn't even listen to me when i was asking if i should continue to use ear spray as it was hurting and i could taste it he kept telling me he couldnt give me anything else keep using it which led to the hole in my ear being sealed by the antibiotic spray which now has fluid trapped behind my ear drum so now i have a middle ear infection after an outer ear infection. Now waiting for a doctor to call to send me to ent left it that long in the day the department is closed!! Cannot eat sleep or even function complete negligence by the same surgery twice.

I have nothing but good things to say about this surgery. Yes you have to wait in a queue on the phone to get an appointment, but that’s the way it is and this doesn’t bother me, it’s just the process we all need to follow. The receptionists are always friendly and helpful, the dr I’ve been speaking to over the last four months has been so great and helpful and really understanding of my situation and I can’t thank her enough, she has helped me through such a difficult time and I really appreciate that. The nurses are lovely and friendly when I go for blood tests and check ups. Overall I’m very happy with this surgery. Drs are under a lot of pressure these days, it’s not like the old days when there were only a handful of patients at a surgery. There are a lot of patients to deal with and I personally am very grateful that my dr is so helpful and kind and caring.

Amazing surgery!!!
I have had to change Drs surgeries so many times over the years, due to moving house or because of incompetence. James street practice is by far the best i have ever registered with. The staff on dispensary are so on it, 1st class no what they are doing, they can't help enough and will always go out of their way. So quick with the prescriptions. The Drs that I have had appointments with have all been so nice, caring and don't try to rush you out the door with a flee in your ear. The receptionists have a he'll of job on their hands and do their best. And every single member of staff who work their manage a smile even when the place is packed and they are under pressure. Thank you. You are all wonderful people and it's so refreshing to be with a surgery where everyone seems to know what they are doing.
