I have been registered for over twenty years with Isca Medical and, after recently receiving some (as usual) excellent care, thought I should lend my voice to support a shining example of NHS care.

I have always found the reception staff friendly and helpful and the team of GPs are excellent. I normally see Dr Weeden who really takes time to listen and provides useful lifestyle and fitness advice as part of her care.

In my recent experience, Dr Campbell saw me quickly, was super helpful and friendly and even performed a small and painless procedure in the surgery to remove a suspect skin tag to confirm all was well.

I am grateful to be a patient at such an excellent practice.

Do not register at this surgery, completely useless. Utter incompetence from the reception staff to the registered GP's. I provided a full occupational health assessment from my employer stating I am currently not fit for work. Currently off sick with severe lower back pain due to the nature of my job I do. Requested a sick note to which the doctor refused because apparently he needs to see me in person, which is utter nonsense. The NHS website states the following: 3.1 The fit note is based on an assessment by a healthcare professional about their patient’s fitness for work. In order to complete a fit note, the healthcare professional can undertake an assessment, either through a face-to-face appointment, video call, telephone consultation or through considering a written report by another healthcare professional i.e. Occupational Health. So my doctor won't think to call me and have a conversation or dread to think have a video call with me to do an assessment, insteads offers me the next available appointment to see him. This being the 22nd May!!!! What an absolute joke, you can't write this utter garbage. No surprise I will be registering with another GP surgery. No wonder the NHS is in the state that it's in with such incompetent staff.

My daughter has joined Isca Medical Practice today and we have received the best service! Thank you to Sylvia who has helped us gain an appointment at really short notice. Sylvia was kind, friendly, understanding and so helpful; if only all Drs surgery staff could be this amazing! Thank you so much.

An excellent GP practice. They seem to achieve what so many other GP practices are struggling to do - you can easily get through on the phone, the reception staff are helpful and efficient, it's usually possible to book an urgent/soon/routine appointment in a reasonable time scale and the doctors and nurses are thorough and compassionate.

This practice has really deteriorated over the last 5 years resulting in me registering elsewhere. This has then caused problems with supporting my neurodivergent teenage daughter who has been trying to access her notes for a disability application. Systems and processes don’t work and GPs are unfamiliar with care pathways for referral to secondary care resulting in distressing and unnecessary delays.

I honestly couldn't speak more highly of this GP Surgery. As a family we have been looked after numerous times for various medical issues. Each and every time they have been so wonderful, friendly, understanding and incredibly efficient. We have always been able to get a timely appointment whether that was over the phone or face to face. I feel so lucky that they are our medical practice. Thank you to all the admin staff, nurses & doctors (& other staff) we are very grateful for all that you do!

My advice would be to avoid this practice if at all possible. Quality of GPs at the practise vary greatly so it's a huge lottery. I dealt with 2 GPs for several months, who refused to refer me urgently for clear and extremely worrying symptoms of suspected cancer. After months, I finally saw Dr. Weedon who immediately referred me and I was finally diagnosed with cancer. If the 1st 2 GPs did their jobs my cancer would have been found earlier which in the longer term may have led to a significantly better prognosis.

I'm shocked at the review score for this practice as I've been really happy with the service here for the past 2 years that I've been registered. I moved to Exeter from the South East, so perhaps my expectations are lower? Here, you can get an appointment when you need one, all staff are polite, GPs are available for online consultation and get back to you really quickly, all concerns addressed, good opening hours, always answer the phone. Honestly not a bad word to say about Isca Medical, best practice I've ever been at!
