My daughter had to ring ambulance after collapsing in pain with her chest and not being able to breath after being ill for a wk, paramedic said it was chest infection, rang GP to advise anti biotic and GP said it's viral so no antibiotics required. I phoned GP to complain and was offered app at St James Rawtenstall where GP suspected sepsis currently in a and e Fairfield waiting for a bed, shame on you Dr chadderton

I have been with irwell for almost 20 years and have maybe had a few occasions where I've not been 100% satisfied. The staff are friendly, the doctors I've seen have been fantastic and the surgery itself is always clean and tidy. I have always been able to get an appointment less than a weeks wait, sometimes on the day if on the rare occasion I've needed them, and also had a couple of same day telephone appointments. Peak times of course will be busy but it usually doesn't take too long to reach by phone.

My only complaint is that I was removed from the dentist here, after being referred elsewhere for braces, and now have to go privately elsewhere - but this is a national issue, not just a me issue.

What a fabulous organisation and set up the Irwell Medical Centre is. I cannot fault the care, support and attention to detail the staff provide, from the frontline receptionist team to the medical team and GPs.
I have recently over the past 12 months moved Drs and so far I have been very happy with the Irwell.

I had a telephone appointment with a lovely nurse. And after consultation she said i need a prescription for antibiotics. She said wait a couple of hours. I waited then rang surgery to be informed wont be ready till tomorrow has Dr needs to sign it. Surely if the nurses are competent to diagnose you over the phone. They should be competent to send prescription to pharmacy. So hopefully boots have meds tomorrow or it will be day 3 of being told i need antibiotics but dont have them.

My family and I have had many experience with this surgery over the year's. They really are fantastic and very much on the ball with things. Never had an issue getting an appointment if needed even through the whole CV19. Doctors, Nurses and staff are all amazing I can't speak highly enough of this practice.
