First time visiting Cramlington hospital to visit a sick relitive, So a bit about the hospital it's situated along side the A19 in Cramlington on what was once farmland, it's a great specialist hospital but it's the type of hospital where they need you in and out ASAP being as it is a specialist hospital like the RVI in Newcastle upon Tyne. There is many cases going in daily due to serious accidents/injury's

The hospital has hand washing/sanatising bays on walk in. If visiting a ward you have to wear a mask even in a private room which even though exempt they didn't ask first or even seem too bothered which did let it down just a bit...

Transport links in to the hospital ground's the bus services that are ran by Phionex Taxis being the 58 and the services ran by Arriva are the 57 and 57A which you can find timetable and route info on the website.

You'll also find plenty parking at the hospital and a café downstairs there is a shop not far from the main entrance but very expensive.

All in though a great hospital!

I went to cramlington hospital so ill and I waited 8 hours in the cold,I told reception that I was really ill and a rude blonde woman with glasses came to me,I told her I had blood coming out my mouth and needed air,she told me to go outside in the cold and gets some air,she knew what I meant and was horrible, the doctor did a quick x-ray to get shoot of me,no blood test nothing and lied about the x-ray being fine, the day after I went to my doctor and he told me to get legal advice against him because I was to ill to leave the hospital,I had swollen feet and was in a worse condition after being to that hospital,I still blame them for me still being ill after 6 weeks.

I was taken to cramlington hospital a&e in the early hours of Saturday 9th November by ambulance for pain in centre of chest. Back.left jaw and left arm
I did however had to wait about 2hrs though. I was given an asprin and water by the paramedics who were fantastic and were keeping me calm.once in the casualty utter chaos.i had ecg and bloods done and though I was in alot of pain I was given
some paracetamol and some gaviscon
I mean what I was in excruciating pain and was given gaviscon from the a&e at 5am in the morning I was then wheeled on my trolley bed to a corridor in another part of the a&e for 5 hours.
The staff did there best but no matter how many times where was the pain relief then I had an asthma attack I was put on an nebuliser to help my breathing I was also given a lovely cup of hot chocolate and a coffee and sandwich. Finally I was told I could go home.whaaaaat.
I was wheeled up to the discharge longe on my trolley bed the porters were again 1st class.i was taken to a ward I was so nauseated something else I didn't get any help for. I needed to go to the loo so this kind health care worker helped Ias my balance was all over the place I hit the floor with such force the part my elbow goes into the crutch actually snapped and dug into lower back.
The dr who treat me in a&e came to see me no test or examination was done she just looked at me and said you will be alright when you get home still no pain relief. Nothing to help with the nausea
I got home by the staff on the patient transport and can I just say again brilliant and very helpful. Good on them thanks lads.
......so where was the strong pain relief I was in pain the score out of ten 11yes where was the help with the nausea? Where was the pain relief while I was waiting in the corridor? Why was I not given a proper check up after my fall?
My ankle is black and blue as is my knee my hip and where the crutch dug into my lower back. What is wrong with you guys?

I recently spent 6 weeks here after contracting COVID. They had to put me in a coma for 2 weeks to save my life. I will always be ever so great full for all the nurses and doctors, they took great care of me during my stay.

Better experience than the first visit. My heart goes out to the staff and what they have to cope with. It's like a conveyor belt that never stops. A sad thing is they have to spend as much time on computers filling in information that takes them away from the job they love nursing !!

Excellent staff, unfortunately my mother in law was made to wait in the waiting area while being sick due to a head injury that she sustained the week before, she was really poorly. Eventually, after hours of sitting there, they took us through so she could have a more comfy chair. Before finding her a bed at 2:30am in the morning, not the medical teams fault they were Excellent and the care she received was second to none thank you

‏One star just for the good midwifes in ward4 and doctor Ibrahim and the team in the c section room that take care of me ❤️ but Nothing for everyone who works in Ward 16
‏I gave birth by caesarean section and my husband was with me. I was asking for medicine. It came late. I asked for milk for my son. He was crying. They bring it late. I had to ring the bell again and what they said "Oh, sorry. I forgot." In between, she was talking to her colleagues outside. In the end, they started treating us in a completely disrespectful way. My husband was with me. They came to wake us up and they ask him to close the bed within ten minutes and sit on a chair under the pretext of the rules while he didn't sleep all the night because i have pain and baby crying and the bed in the corner doesn't matter if it's open ir close . The water runs out and they do not bring me water to drink the medicine. When we asked her to do that, she said, “You can fill the water from the end of the hall. How can I go when I have had 24 hours since I left the room?” Operating room. When i rings the bell , one of them comes and says: Why are you ringing the bell now? What's fooor? It is as if I am working in her house as one of the slaves. I am sick of this service , although I do not ring the bell often i just do for necessary thing like pain killers or milk for the baby but the rest my husband help me they are all with miserable faces and service not good at all i hate this place i just wonna go home i feel more sick here with this bad stuff and bad service i don't know why they are like that but if you can't do your job properly and make the patient feel better and good stay at your home or back to school to learn how to treat people or maybe ask your parents to behave you again
