Long wait for assesment. Attended a workshop recently and there were 4 cahms staff present including 2x clinical psychologists and a doctor. The doctor sat for 3 hours to give a 5 minute talk on medications. It was a fairly useful workshop but in my opinion and based on a 2 year wait for assesment, the people resources could be allocated better. Had a couple of meetings o er the past 2 years but nothing useful has come out of it. My child continues to struggle massively and new symptoms have developed since we first attended camhs.

I dun think my worker there has deep insights into mental health problems. They may be good with ADHD and Autism which they have experiences but not on severe mental illness. Their delayed actions and diagnosis escalate the situation making my child becoming more seriously ill. I regret that I let CAMHS be involved in my child’s problem. And he is saying the therapy and medicine all don’t work and the workers there just finding more excuses and puttigg bc the blame on others

Don't have a bad word to say about this place. My son and I have had positive experiences with every person we have encountered here.They have been a great help to my family.
This is not a journey anyone wants to take, but it's helpful,informative, and never made a day any worse for us.

Bin calling and messaging emails for months and they say were get someone get back to u they still haven't whilst my daughter is suffering even my gp has wrote to them still heard nothing discrace if u ask me ?
