I recently stayed at this 4-star hotel and had an overall pleasant experience, but there were a few disappointments that affected my stay. The hotel itself was well-maintained, with clean and comfortable rooms, great amenities, and a relaxing ambiance. The staff at the reception and restaurant were professional and welcoming, making check-in and dining experiences enjoyable.

One of the highlights of my stay was the spa, which included a sauna, steam room, and jacuzzi. The facilities were clean and well-kept, providing a great opportunity to unwind. However, I was disappointed by an unexpected policy regarding the spa seating area. After using the facilities, I wanted to rest on the lounge chairs, but the spa staff informed me that they were reserved exclusively for VIP spa customers. Instead, I was directed to sit on regular chairs, which I found uncomfortable and not in line with the relaxing experience I expected.

As a hotel guest, I found this policy discriminatory. Given that the spa is a key part of the hotel’s offerings, restricting access to basic relaxation areas for regular guests felt unfair. A more inclusive approach would enhance the guest experience and align better with the high standards expected from a 4-star hotel.

Despite this issue, I still enjoyed my stay, and the hotel has many positives. However, I hope they reconsider their spa policies to ensure all guests feel equally valued.

This hotel looks like it has been around for a very long time. However the room the room that I stayed in was clean and comfortable. They have done their best to make it so. Lobby area, bar and restaurant has been decorated very well. Guests were able to use the gym, swimming pool and additional facilities. Food at the restaurant was good and plated very well. Location wise, it was just off A3 but you do need a car if you want to find other places to eat. Overall good stay!

Had a fantastic dinner with my family at Holiday Inn Guildford yesterday. We were served by Sheraz, who was absolutely amazing. He went above and beyond to ensure we had top-notch service. Everything was perfect, from the drinks to the food. A solid 10/10 experience! The Belgian waffle there is amazing, simply the best in town. 💯

Had dinner here a few weeks ago with a friend. The sirloin steak was amazing! We were served by a lovely lady named Abeer. Although she was quite busy, Abeer still kept a smile while talking to us and was very attentive. We watched her go to each table, doing the same. She was professional and kind.

The staff make this place. Som, Allen, Varshit, (to name but a few) are absolutely outstanding in every aspect of their roles. I had wonderful chats with them, and they were nothing but kind and considerate to my kids. The service staff are fabulous, and do a great job of keeping the place clean and running efficiently. Loved seeing the Harlequins players wondering about the place, all of them were so friendly to my gawping children!
The lobby and restaurant look great, and this is where the money has gone, the rooms however are so very dated. The carpets, furniture, bathroom (especially the grouting) are covered in marks and stains, and considering the revenue generated (and being part of the IHG), this hotel desperately needs a renovation of its rooms to match its outstanding staff.
Finally, I assume this was the head of rooms (British lady with short hair), I totally understand following protocol and H&S matters to vacate a room when the extra bed is being made, and I am happy to comply, however, a little consideration of your tone and delivery of telling me and my children to get out of the room, would go a long way.

We have just had a short stay at this hotel. ||All the staff are friendly and helpful. In the restaurant, there is a good selection and reasonably priced. We would recommend the mixed grill, lamb rump, or blade of beef. You can eat there without staying at the hotel, so we will be going back. The buffet breakfast is good, too!||They have a large car park with a charge of £5.

We had a lovely stay, the kids were welcome with little goody bags with a drink, chocolate and colouring. The swimming pool was nice and warm. Staff were all lovely and friendly and breakfast was great. Would definitely stay again.

The hotel is fine and quality of food has improved (though they can't fry a breakfast egg for toffee!!). Business trip with parking paid for, acknowledged at check-in, yet still got a parking fine for one of the three days!! Fortunately this arrived on my doorstep 3 days before I left the country for 6 weeks, or the fine might have been enormous!!
