Would give no stars if I could.. knew alot of the psychiatrists like the head psychiatrist who works here when they were working at the Osbourne center in Fareham. I don't like saying bad things about people but I feel it's my responsibility to speak up. These guys are chemical butchers without an ounce of compassion. Unless you are criminally insane avoid these people. They totally ignored what was actually wrong with me and left me on mind altering medication for over 20 years unnecessarily. They took me off their books 15 years ago but kept me on the medication which has had a seriously negative impact on my life. They even had the audacity not to take me on recently to help me come off the medication that has severely impacted me. In my humble opinion the psychiatrists and many of their underlings who work here are monsters, remember these people do not care about you they merely want you not to be a problem for society or the government. I wish to God I had never trusted those who worked here.

all these awful reviews make me sad. When emotions are heightened or mental health Is poor, which is the whole reason for being referred to CMHT in the first place, our thoughts and feelings towards the people trying to help us are going to be distorted because we expect them to fix EVERYTHING but the reality is, they can't. Until you have followed every single bit of advice, taken the meds prescribed and followed your treatment plan, you can't review or comment. You have to follow what they are recommending because they are the experts. I feel like people are quick to jump on the wagon and dish out reviews before even trying whats been advised because In your mind "it's not good enough" but have you tried putting their advice into action? If not then please do. Behind this team there are real people, human beings. Not robots. They have lives outside of their jobs and they are people coming to work every day to try to support and help others... without a good enough wage. To then go home and not have enough time for their own family because they are spending all of their time helping you and your family. They are under funded and that isn't their fault... take that up with the government. So, the magic services or mental health help you are looking for that you feel you aren't getting does not come from this CMHT team, it comes from the government and the amount of funding provided for mental health services. Please... stop and think... they are trying to help which is why they have chosen to do this job. They could easily chose a different career... for example finance, and get much more money. But they haven't. they have chosen this career because they want to help. If they didn't chose this job then we wouldn't have anybody. So let's be a bit more grateful and stop attacking human beings with their own lives trying to help you. Let's appreciate them and their kindness for chosing a career/Job that they didn't have to chose... but chose to.. because they want to help and that in itself is beautiful. Nobody is perfect and sometimes they might not get it right first time... but in my opinion, that's to much to ask. Just give them a break and appreciate them a bit more.

if I could use an emoji it would be an angry red face. I've been ping ponged here 3 times and I'm no better off. I was told on the day they discharged "YOU SHOULDNT RELY ON MEDICATION YOU NEED TO MOVE ON" Move on? you mean push more trauma down and forget?!! OK if its that easy.

I had asked for support and help with my mental health for the last 10 months and in November a referral was finally made by the GP surgery, after 2 months waiting to be contacted, I ended up phoning the hewat centre only to be told that my referral had been declined and the Gp surgery had been informed. I have asked why my referral had been declined and was told these actual words " I don't want to say,as I don't want to say the wrong thing, contact your GP. I have contacted my GP and even they are avoiding to give me an explanation, and like other people have stated my GP surgery also did not inform me that they had received a notification that the referral had been declined Originally I thought this was just because of my mental health issues, but after reading other people's experience's - reviews I know now that I am not alone. What is the point of having a mental health service is they are not going to see patients with mental health issues, another waste of money being spent on an NHS service that is failing to deliver. The lack of communication between the mental health team and GP surgery to inform me about the referral or give me an explanation why I cannot be seen by the mental health team has just caused more stress and anxiety .PI## POOR and not acceptable.
Is it possible to know from various people who have experienced the same problems which are included in my honest review, what GP surgery has made their referral and then not been informed by their GP when the mental health team have declined help and emailed the GP, to let them know. I was told by a member of staff at the mental health center usually once the referral has been made , that you don't usually wait for more than 2 weeks, so like many other reviews, people have waited around for an average of over 6 weeks, though the GP surgery has been informed,so if the GP is sitting on this information they have, and are failing to let the person who is waiting to hear back from mental health team, I feel this is a serious breach of disrespect but more importantly a serious breach of care..and people's mental health is not being taken seriously 😒😳

They try. The receptionists are usually really friendly, and will relay your message to whoever you need it for. If you're interested in getting help for your mental health, waiting lists can be a year onwards, and sometimes they'll never make one for you (my friend has been waiting for two or three years).

You need to be desperately ill, and they likely wont see you unless you're currently self harming. They spent about a year trying to force me to take medication until I eventually wore down, which I didn't really appreciate. And half of the staff I've seen suck at their job, so you could probably receive similar support from friends.

But, now I've found my favourite nurse, Mandy- who is willing to see me whenever I feel down, and will always phone me back if she's not in. My psychologist knows her stuff and is willing to compromise during sessions, and has helped me more than anyone else in her field. The psychiatrist Dr Foster is super busy so the waiting list can be two or three months, but she's OK.

Overall if you manage to actually be seen by them, and find the right staff for you, they have the potential to help big time. I wouldn't say I've improved, however whenever I'm unstable they're the ones who helped me not commit suicide. I'm yet to learn any skills to help me cope, which is pretty bad since I've been seeing them for three or four years now, but I'm glad they're there.

Received a letter stating wait for a certain date to make a appointment if not contact was made only to ring up and say they couldn’t help and no GP contact was received that was two months wasted. Rang GP and they confirmed that a discussion was had a week after the letter was sent and she was dismissed without even seeing the patient and no one from the center or GP chose to let my mum know. Not recommend this is the second time they have dropped her case and never informed her

In my desperation to help a family member, Jo, Paula and Kyle were very helpful and tried desperately to get the locum to respond and assist in my plea to get someone to listen. The practice manager helped to arrange an assessment to help resolve the situation for which I am grateful. The outcome is pending but that has no reflection on the ladies I spoke to today. Thank you

Referred here after a 12 week group course with italk. iTalk said I needed more support and that they'd liase with the CMHT to discuss what treatment they thought would be best for me. I get referred to the CMHT.

Went for CMHT assessment. It was a bit rushed towards the end, but I was pleased because we covered the basics. I ask specifically to have a copy of what we had discussed, and was reassured I'd get an assessment letter back within a week.

A week goes by, no letter. I get a call from the person who assessed me and they told me about some charities that I'd need to self refer myself to. They said I was not "severe" enough to be treated be CMHT, "which is a good thing". They said they were just finishing my letter and I'd get it next week.

Next week. No letter. I call back and complain. I'd need to be more assertive. After finally getting a call back, I get told that I'm going to be referred back to iTalk for one-on-one sessions and my meds will be changed. I'm told they're "just putting on the finishing touches on my letter" and I'd recieve it next week.

I also ask what qualifies as severe enough to them for access to their services. By "not severe enough", they mean unless you specifically have Bipolar, Schizophrenia or are planning to hurt yourself or others, they won't see you.

Should this not have been said before I was referred? By not outwardly specifying what they treat, I've been sent on a wild goose chase. Also, I could have just stayed at iTalk, not only avoiding wasting my time and energy, but the very limited time and resources that the CMHT clearly need for people struggling with Bipolar, Schizophrenia or harmful thoughts/behaviours.

Anyway, I recieve a big envelope... Full of crude web page printouts, no cover letter, no letter from my assessment or about my med changes.

On the verge of pulling my hair out, I called back again. This time, I finally said that I wanted to complain and was put through to the manager. The manager was confused, saying that I should have my assessment letter and one about my meds. I'm like, I know. Where is it?

I get a call back later on. We're just putting the finishing touches on it. You'll get it next week.

It's the next week. No letter. Called back. Person who assessed me is on leave and manager isn't in.

Don't promise vulnerable people a service you can't give them. If there is no where people can go, at least be honest so that people can clearly see the gap in the market, and fill it.

There's even more details involved in this that I haven't mentioned. And to think I've been looking for help for over 10 years and I'm still being kicked from place to place in search of someone. Smh.

Will update on any future progress.

Update: I got my letter finally. Discharged back to my GP. Additionally, the team psychiatrist wants to change my meds that work despite never meeting me personally.

From prior experience, I can't understand how a psychiatrist would feel comfortable prescribing new medication without meeting the patient first. Needless to say, I will be talking thoroughly with my GP before I take any new steps without careful consideration.
